​Earlier this week One Direction fans were left AWASH with concern, after the guys cancelled their first show on the Belfast leg of the On The Road Again tour 10 minutes before they were due to go onstage, after Liam Payne fell ill. 

Within minutes #GetWellLiam was trending on Twitter, as the fandom rallied around The Paynis and frantically wondered what could be wrong with him. 

Enter: Harry Edward Styles, who shed some light on the whole dramatic episode during a phone interview with Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2. 

Asked by Chris if there\'s anything he could send Liam as a little \'get well\' present, Harry replied: "Pepto-Bismol. It\'s a stomach thing, right?" 

"Is that what\'s wrong with him? Does he have stomach issues, it\'s not a throat issue?" asked Chris. 

"It\'s like... he just, he was very ill," Harry responded, before adding: "It was kind... it was kinda not ah... it wasn\'t, it wasn\'t pretty." 

Aaaaaaaaaand now we\'re being bombarded with all kinds of poo related mental images we could have done without. Lovely. 

Elaborating on why they decided to cancel, he continued: "[Liam] was just very very ill. To be honest we feel kinda lucky to have got to this point and never cancelled one. 

"Obviously we\'re all very disappointed and very much apologise to everyone that was there - it happened so late because we were trying to get on, and then it was just impossible and he wasn\'t well enough... we\'re disappointed." 

Asked if they considered going on as a three, he revealed that wasn\'t an option, saying: "Three\'s not many man - there\'s a lot of stuff going on onstage and Liam\'s always a huge part of everything, he sings a lot." 

Still, the good news is that Liam is all better, and fans who were due to see 1D perform at the cancelled show can breathe a sigh of relief - they were not scarred for life by watching their idol shit himself on stage. Which is always a plus. 

Then again, they could have sung \'POO & I\'. Or \'IT\'S GOTTA BE POO\', so it\'s also a bit of a missed opportunity.
