Hermione: Special awards to the school? (Chamber of Secrets)

At the end of the Chamber of Secrets, Dumbledore awards Harry and Ron special awards to the school for their help in defeating the basilisk. But what about Hermione?? They wouldnt have known what to do if it wasn't for her!!

Because Hermione was unconscious. Yes, she did figure out that it was a basalisk attacking the students, but it was Harry and Ron that actually went down into the Chamber to fight it. Harry fought and killed the basalisk and destroyed Voldemort's diary/horcrux and Ron helped Harry get into the chamber and helped get everyone out (he would have done more, but he was stuck on the other side of the wall).

Yeah I see what you mean, but they wouldn't have even been ABLE to defeat the basilisk without the help of Hermione! Even Harry says at the end "Hermione we couldn't have done it without you" because it was the truth. If it wasn't for Hermione then the school would probably have been closed!

True, but it's not like Harry and Ron told Dumbledore that Hermione had that big of a hand in it too. If they had, she probably would have gotten a medal (or whatever the special award is).
