Twihards or Rabid fans (thats obsessive Twilight fans, all of you): Don't read this. I don't want to get mauled or drowned.
I apologize for any spelling or grammar errors.
Don't get me wrong- I like Twilight just fine. However, many parts of it really annoyed me. Here are my reasons why I liked Harry Potter better.
1. Characters.
Lets compare:
Lead female role in HP: Hermione Granger. Flaws: a bit nerdy, Know-it-all, and Bossy. Good traits: Stood up for herself (as well as think for herself), worked against racism (for house-elves), was loyal to Harry at all times, and didn't try to kill herself when Ron dated Lavender. (Though she did try to maim Ron)
Lead female role in TS: Bella Swan. Flaws: Mary-Sue, easily-depressed, boyfriend was everything in her life. Good Traits: Good Sense of humor (kinda), loyal (though mainly to Edward, ditched all her friends for him)
I pick: Hermione. She proves that your soul mate can't define you, and that sometimes you have to do whats right, even if no-one agrees with you.
2. Themes
Thats "moral" everyone.
HP teaches: bravery, Hermione-Morals as I call them (see above), loyalty, friendship matters and will help you through life, and to stick up for yourself. (Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle, Anyone?)
TS teaches: True love conquers all (not a bad theme, in all, but could use improving),umm...well theres...wait...no, thats basically the whole plot.
3. Writing
HP: Gives just enough info and description to keep you interested.
E.x. Okay, this is a very, VERY crappy example but: "'Ha ha, Harry, you suck.' said Malfoy. 'I can tell why your parents would rather die than stay with you'"
Told you it was crap. Wasn't in the book, trust me.
TS: So much description. So much. Honestly, I don't care if Alice is wearing a pink dress with white unicorn embroidery and has a saffron bow in her ebony black hair. (Not a real example) TS writing will occasionally switch between past and present tense.
4. Fans
Disclaimer Guaranteed to start a shit-storm if you don't read the whole thing.
For more info, Google "100 reasons why Harry Potter is better than Twilight" and "1000 reasons why Twilight is better than Harry Potter"
HP fans: State their reasons for liking Harry Potter simply, only minor swearing, and nearly always only use caps-lock for capitalization or to get a point across. Only, like, one rabid fan. Maybe two or three. How the hell should I know?
TS fans: Now I'm not saying that all Twilight fans will do this: "OMG TWILITE IZ SOOOOOO MUCH BETER THEN HARY POTTER!!!! HP IS SOOOO ANOYING AND NERDYY!!!11!!one" Quite the contrary. I have friends who are very intelligent and like Twilight. Of course they don't write like that. However Rabid-Fans/Twihards/TwiTards will. Sometimes. Rabid-Fans also will pour acid on a non-twilightian, scratch the car of a non-twilightian, or try to drown a twelve/eleven year old non-twilightian. I made up non-twilightian, just saying. I think I did, at least. Someone else might say it too.
5. Films/Movies
Some people *cough-twilightgurl-cough* will say that anything made in Britain is automatically bad, because America is/was the more powerful country. Ummm....no.
Others might say anything made in America is bad, and everything made in Britain is automatically better. Also: Ummmm....no.
It doesn't matter what country its made in. I don't care. I love the Harry Potter movies, and I like the Twilight movies. The ACTORS matter. The DIRECTING matters.
I don't have much opinion on this one, but I'm going with Harry Potter because I really don't like Kristen Stewart as Bella. She seems kind of lifeless to me. But I like the Twilight movies fine, despite her.
Thats all for now. I could go on, but I'm choosing not to because I have to leave soon.

Hello everyone!
I'm planning on writing a letter to Stephenie Meyer regarding the Twilight series. I wanted to address all the points many people do not like in the series. The letter is going to be friendly and straight-forward. I wanted to hear what everyone would want me to include. These are a few of the topics I am going to be including:
- Anti-feminism
- Abusive relationship
- Unhealthy obsession
- Lust does not equal love
- Bella is horribly rude to her friends (not valued friendships)
These are just a few. Please add anything and if there is something specific you'd like me to add.
I'll be working on this letter and posting on Sunday on Fanpop, so I can add anything else and have your approval and then I will send it to her.
I understand that Seth probably won't let it get to her, but it's worth a shot and I will post his reply (assuming he does reply.)
Thank you! :)
