Interview with a Vampire is a great movie and Book. Good for her for speaking the truth. Stephen King said the same thing. I love his work as well.

WOW. i love HP but really? I think there a bit jealous because people like Twilight too, and its not all about everyone liking theirs...a bit childish to say its a failure, because if it is, then why do so many people (And not just crazy teenage girls either) love Twilight huh? Many people love HP too and you didnt see SM saying crap about JKR...well, she might now.

Im on both sides, so dont go all ape on meh.

^Just because a lot of people like something doesn't mean it has any cultural, social, political or literary value. Especially when their biggest fan base is teenagers, who are easily influenced by their friends' opinions and what other people say and have not yet necessarily gained skills in literary analysing or media sceptism. It's called the "Bandwagon effect" which is present in every person and allows us to adapt to our culture and "herd", therefore ensuring better chances at survival.

^^ Gosh, they're just saying their opinion, it's not the fact that they're jealous. :P Anne Rice's and Stephen King's books aren't even aimed at teens.

hmmm
WTF you talking bout ^^^ teenagers can read things like " Carrie" " Pet Sematary" or " Interview with a Vampire". They have swearing and sex scenes in the book but I would hope teens know what sex is, and I have yet to meet a teen who hasnt said/heard - Fuck, shit, damn, hell, bullshit, motherfucker etc.
