Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

Is there a book that people like MORE than Harry Potter or Twilight?

I'd never actually considered that for some people on this forum, Harry Potter/Twilight might not be their favourite book!

If there was one book that i could choose (even though Harry Potter is my fav book!), it would probably be Artemis Fowl... A) Because i'm a nerd and B) because it has everything in it, plus it's an easy read! :)

I have so many!! My top five are (in no particular order):

-Summer Lightning by PG Wodehouse

-My Family and Other Animals by Gerald Durrell

-Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery

-Thank You, Jeeves by PG Wodehouse

-The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak

-To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Harry Potter isn't really one of my favourite books; I loved it when I was a bit younger and I still have a lingering affection for it because of that. I do find it fun to talk about though!! And I enjoy challenging Twilight, too. :D

Generally speaking...no...

All over the world Harry Potter dominates the entire world, with it's great storyline, teachings, well- developed characters, etc. Twilight is up there too (though I am a HP fan) and has many fans as well, but arguably less than Harry Potter.
Personally to me, I have several favorite books, though Harry Potter was the first big chapter book I ever read and it has taken the second to first place on my favorite book list. Other books that I enjoy include...
The Gemma Doyle Trilogy
The Inheritance Cycle
The Vampire Diaries (probably ties with HP for number two)
Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Sense and Sensibility- I'm a Jane Austen fan!
His Dark Materials
And more...
But probably the best book I ever read was the Da Vinci Code and its predecesser Angels and Demons. Those were phenomenal books!=)

I adore Harry Potter, but it is not my number one book/series. The best one I have read so far is Legend of the Ice People by Margit Sandemo, 47-volume series, that is just super amazing. It has everything, from history to magic and romance. Simply wonderful. Harry Potter is my number two :)

Yes! I have so many favourites (as well as Harry Potter) that I cannot choose, so I'll put a few.

- The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
- The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
- City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende
- Red Tears by Joanna Kenrick
- Double Cross by Malorie Blackman (the final book in her Noughts & Crosses series)
- Dracula by Bram Stoker
- The Monkey's Paw by W.W. Jacobs

Those are just a FEW of my favourites. I'm terrible at picking just one. XD Those are some that are favorited or tied with Harry Potter.

Until a week ago I would have said 'no' because I love HP so much but now I have to admit there is a book I like more: "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire. (The book and musical are different in a lot of ways but both are awesome!) I don't love Wicked in the obsessive way I love HP but if I compared the books to each other... I really think Wicked wins.
It's quite disturbing to me actually since I didn't think I'd ever like anything better than HP ^^

I think the Harry Potter series would definitely be my favourite books but I like others too.

In the way of series:
- The Chronicles of Narnia
- Dragon Keeper
- His Dark Materials
- Uglies
- The Princess Diaries
- Plotless, Pointless, Pathetic (the comic strips are hilarious)
- The Bartimaeus Trilogy
Other books I really like:
- Life of Pi
- The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
- Mao's Last Dancer
- Fantastic Mister Fox (I love all the Roald Dahl books, but this is my favourite)
- Chinese Cinderella

I'm about to start reading Lord of the Rings, hopefully tomorrow. I loved the movies, and going by the rule 'book always pwns movie' I think they'll end up on the list.

I also love Inkheart, but I haven't put it on here because I still haven't read Inkdeath. As a perfectionist, I have to have matching covers when I buy a book series and for some bizarre reason, I ended up with the first two in paperback (I usually get hardback, it was a bit weird) so I had to wait for 6 months to buy the book so they all matched, and by that point, I started reading and I was like "WTF, I'm so confused. I forgot what happened in the last book." So I have to reread th first two, and I never got around to it.

So that was an enormous ramble. Anyway, Potter's my favourite, but I do read other things, and as you can see, I'm a sucker for kids' fantasy.

It was not until recently that I discovered my love for literature. I did read before that, but I never put any thought or speculation into my reading. They were just books, and at that time, they were all the same to me. This may be because I read a lot of crappy books...
For the past year, however, I've learnt to appreciate books and yet find flaws. I've learnt to recognise when a book is bad. I've made a habit of writing book reviews for my blog.
What I'm trying to say is that I haven't read too many "proper" books, and out of the ones I've read, Harry Potter is my favourite. I just finished Interview with the Vampire and Pride and Prejudice and enjoyed both of them, but I think Harry Potter will always be my first love when it comes to the world of fiction.

I read the first four HP books in Norwegian when I was 7++ They didn't capture my attention because the translation was so bad. When I reread them, and finally finished the series last year (in English) I absolutely loved them. I suddenly understood how great the books really were. Harry Potter was the series that got me into reading, and for that reason it will always be my favourite.
