Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

What do you all think of this?

Do you agree with it? Comment why or why not in an intelligent way, instead of "NO!! HARRY POTTER SUCKS! TWILIGHT KICKS ASS!" or "HELL YEAH! HARRY POTTER ALL THE WAY! TWILIGHT CAN GO SUCK IT!" Whoever leaves the most interesting and meaningful comment will get props, and you don't have to agree with it to get those props. :):):):)

Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Answers

I agree with it, because Harry Potter has been around for many years, since 1997, and Twilight has been around since..2005/2006? I think a lot of people are only interested in Edward, and not the story as much.

Many of us have grown up with the Harry Potter books, and through our process of growing up, we have learnt to live with harry and his crew, and we have also developed certain emotions as well through reading the stories, and the tough times that Harry goes through help us through our tough times too.

There have been stories about Vampires before Twilight, and they have 'faded' away, so i'm sure that after Breaking Dawn(the movie) all of this will soon die down, and people won't worship it anymore.

For me, when i am feeling down, i can read a Harry Potter, and drift off into the world described inside of the book, and when finished, i feel happy and satisfied. When i read Twilight when i'm down, i don't really feel anything, which sort of sucks, because i want to feel emotive when reading a book. If you see where i'm coming from?

So yeah, hopefully that was a good enough answer.

(I have put faded in ' because i couldn't think of another word to use.)

You speak the truth, dear. Even though I really like vampire litterature like Anne Rice, I agree about Twilight fading away and Harry Potter never fading away like that. Harry Potter will always be considered an amazing piece of litterature.

I definitely agree with the icon. Twilight has been out since 2005 and I can already people are getting over it, I go to an all girls high school. 2008-ish, people wouldn't shut up, now, I haven't heard one positive thing about the series since I've been back at school.

On the other hand there's been about 4 spontaneous outbursts of 'Get Back To Hogwarts' (and I didn't start any of them... I did join them though) and multiple in-depth discussions about the magical world of Harry Potter. These include:
- 'David Yates is a douche-bag and ruined the last two movies.'
- 'What do you think Deathly Hallows is going to be like?'
- 'Our school should have a Quidditch team.'
- 'If our school was Hogwarts, which house would be which' (this one was particularly difficult but we figured it out eventually. Rome/Red = Gryffindor, they're quite athletic and daring; Troy/Blue = Hufflepuff, they can't do shit; Athens/Green = Ravenclaw, we have lots of smart people; and Sparta/Yellow = Slytherin, it just kinda fit)
- 'If we were to do AVPM at school, who would we cast as who?' (I get to be Draco)
- 'Hogwarts uniforms are awesome, should I buy one and where from?'
- 'The theme park is going to kick ass.'

There are probably more but also, one more thing. Our chaplain played a clip from Harry Potter to demonstrate a moral the other day. Christians are supposedly the ones against it and she's promoting it.

It's been almost 13 years since Harry Potter first came out and it's still going strong, Twilight's really only lasted 4 years so far and it's already fading fast. I think this essentially proves that the icon is 100% right.

I love this icon, and really, it's very true. Twilight is just a book series, and some movies. Harry Potter is a whole world that's been created, spawning a whole industry.
