Do you think the movie makes the actour famous, or the actors made the movie famous?(for both HP and Twilight)

I actually think it is the movies that made the actors famous for BOTH movies. I know that great actors such as Alan Rickman are in Harry Potter, but who had ever heard of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint or Emma Watson before that? Who had ever heard of Tom Felton or Bonnie Wright or Evanna Lynch or Matthew Lewis or any of the other kids in the movies? As far as Twilight goes, nobody really cared about Robert Pattinson before Twilight (except for some of the die-hard Harry Potter fans, considering he played Cedric Diggory in Goblet of Fire). That is why I really don't buy all of the "OMG I LUUUVS ROBERT PATTERSON!!!1!" stuff; they only like him because of the fact that he plays Edward, seeing as nobody thought he was oh so hot when he played Cedric. Kristen Stewart was heard of, but she wasn't really famous. If you had heard her name, some people would be like "Oh, I've heard that name somewhere... hmmm..." but now, everyone knows who she is. So for both movies, the movie is what made these actors famous, not the other way around.

For Harry Potter, it was definitely the movies that made the actors famous. It was their big break. Emma had not even acted professionally until she recieved the role. She was obviously immensely talented, but she wouldn't have reached such fame had she not played Hermione. I think it is the same for Twilight. I had seen Kristen Stewart in a few movies, but I really didn't know her name, until Twilight was released. I think the fame and popularity are different. I believe New Moon became more popular because of Taylor Lautner. And I think Harry Potter became more popular because of its phenomenal cast. But that's just my opinion.

i think maybe alittle of both, actors such as Tom Felton, Kristen Stewart who had been in other films but werent well known and reached public awareness due to harry potter and twilight respectively.

the older actors ( in harry potter and michael sheen in new moon) were already well known so yeah i have to agree the films made the main actors/actresses in harry potter and twilight more famous and well known than before.

Definately the movie makes the actors famous. Before both movies came out, everyone neither knew nor cared about the actors.

I thnk that this is as famous as they're ever going to get, so to some extent...

Actors made Twilight so popular. Movie is shity, but everyone loves it because of that robert.

but hp is a different story.

Well, both I think because when somebody sees the movie, there like:"I love ___________! Don't you?" and the convo goes to magizines and paparatzi says "Oh, I heard your dating_________! Is that true?" And thats what happenes.

But when the movie comes out, actors make it famous. :/ I think..

It depends on who the actor is.
If the actor is already famous, then that contributes to giving the movie more attention, but if the actors are fairly unknown or complete newcomers, the movie gives them fame.
