Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

I just thought of something...

So, in Eclipse, Alice tells Bella that the reason that Jane's power doesn't effect her is because Bella has a kind of mind-block that prevents people from going into her head; and that Jane's power doesn't actually cause you pain, it just gives you the illusion on being in pain. So if Jane's power is technically the Cruciatus curse with her mind, and the only thing you have to do to block it is protect your mind, then maybe someone established at Occlumency (like Snape) could actually BLOCK the Cruciatus curse using only their mind. It's just a theory, still working on it.
Poor Harry...
So, what are your thoughts?

I don't think that's how Crucio works. The Cruciatus curse (although it IS an illusion of pain) sounds much more powerful than Jane's power. I don't think Cruciatus actually burrows into your mind and plants a pain seed, I think it just takes over your entire being.

Is the Cruciatus curse an illusion of pain, like Jane's power is? I mean, magic comes out of a wand, physically hits something, and the person (thing? can it work on creatures?) is in pain. Jane's power isn't like that - she goes into your mind and makes it think that your body is in pain.

I agree with Bri. This question boils down to whether or not the Cruciatus curse only affects the brain or if it's activating every pain-sensory nerve in the body. By the way, all three Unforgivables have been demonstrated at least once each on spiders.

I think it's a good thought, but they're different things (Jane's power and the cruciatus)... If it were true, i'd like to think it's because the cruciatus is worse (Wizards are made of tougher stuff) and that's why you can't block it, but no one can know...

hmmm ... maybe you're right,

but i think cruciatus curse is being one of the Unforgivable curse for some reason. because nothing can block it, once again, i THINK.

if occlumency could block it, why Alice and Frank don't do the occlumency ? they're aurors, for merlin's sake !

i think the cruciatus is more powerful than jane's power. (it's not because i love HP!)

I didn't think that Cruciatus curse was just in the mind. I thought it actually caused pain.

If it is an illusion as well, then I think that's very clever, and would probably work.

Good thinking, either way!
