Hmmm, Twilight critisisms, where to start?
Here's a list
1. Vampires should not sparkle. Many Twilight fans claim Meyer "has the right to create her own version of the vampire" while she has the right to be creative, changing everything that makes a vampire a vampire makes her writing laughable. Vampires are symbolic, that's why the exist, there's a point to them. They are supposed to be creatures of the night who drink human blood, and die when exposed to the sun's rays. They aren't supposed to be "hawt tween icons." It's like writing a story about dragons, but having them breath chocolate milk instead of fire, it's ridiculous.
2. There is zero character development. The characters reman the same throught the entire series, they don't grow, or develop, with the exception of a few minor characters.
3. Bella and Edward's "romance" is NOT love, it's lust. Obsessive longing based on appearence is called lust. What do Bella and Edward have in common? What do they like to do together? They sit, and talk about how much they love each other, but they have no common interests, they are in loge for very superficial reasons. Looks, and smell. How is that supposed to be a "beautiful romance?" And plus, Edward abusis Bella.
4. Bell's has no personality, goals, or ambitions, and is a whinning Mary sue.
5. Massive Plot holes (Renessmee, nuff said)
6. An overly contrived happy ending. Bella sacraficed nothing, nor did she go through any hardships. She didn't deserve a happy ending.
7. Awful morals. (Looks are everything ect.)
8. Offensive toward women (Bella is nothing without her man)
9. Repetetive dialoige. (We hear about how beautiful Edward is a ridiculous amount of times)
I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.
