Harry Potter Vs. Twilight
answer this question
Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question
Challenge for Harry Potter fans *and* Twihards!
Okay, so I'm just curious to hear everyone's opinions about these things and it's also a bit of a challenge. Oh, and this works better if you're don't love both of them.
Harry Potter fans - think of 3 *real* good things about the Twilight series ('real', meaning it can't be, it taught girls not to follow Bella's example and go emo, or anything) and then think of 3 real things about Harry Potter that you think are genuine plot/writing flaws. Finally, list five characters in Twilight who you actually like and why you like them.
Twilight fans - exactly the opposite :) Think of 3 good things about the Harry Potter series, and then 3 things about Twilight that you think are genuine plot/writing flaws. Then, list five characters in Harry Potter who you like and why you like them.
I'll start: I'm a Harry Potter fan, and so the three good things about Twilight are (I think)
1. it shows the power of romantic love (even though I think it's lust, it's the thought that counts haha)
2. Even if it works out happily, it does have a good amount of unrequited love which, in my opinion, is one of the most powerful forms of love.
3. it represents, even in a sort of sick form, the power of a mother's love for her baby even before it's born.
I just realize all three of those were about love, but Twilight is basically just a love story so....
And now my three flaws of Harry Potter would be:
1. The epilogue. It read like JKR hadn't even written it, because I didn't think she was capable of that amount of cheese until I read the ending chapter of Deathly Hallows.
2. While the Hallows story was interesting and certainly had a part in the plot of DH, JKR could've done a lot more with it and incorporated the stone and the cloak more into the final showdown.
3. It's not much of a severe writing flaw, but I'm getting desperate here so I'll use it anyway: I was really intrigued about Bill and Charlie Weasley, but while they had their distinct personalities, they were
