Do you think that Twilight is a copycat from Harry Potter..??

Sorry if this has to be in the pick section..

But i want to no because some people are saying that Twilight is a copycat from it.. and i personally dont see how they think that.??

Because Harry Potter is about Wizards and Twilight's about Vampires and all that.. so i don't see copying in it..???

Sorry the image is to small.. Harry Potter is saying... Now that that pesky Twilight saga is finished im positvie all my fans will return to my books almost all to willingly. Im meen who ends a series in the FOURTH book? i had Seven! and my fans loved each one.. Then Bella comes and punches him in the face.. then Edward goes.. Now may that be a lesson to you Mr Potter no on talks bad about our series without paying the price then Bella goes YOU TELL HIM EDWARD... lol

(I won`t get too detailied with this too).

But you see how different the plots and stories are? I mean, seriously? It`s pretty obvious that the two are pretty much, in NO WAYS, alike.

Ok, so I'm new to this site and only really came across it when browsing through the web to find out whether 'Midnight Sun' (in the Twilight series) was from Edward's point of view. I must admit, you guys come up with some interesting theories, but all I can say is that both authors - J.K Rowling and Stephanie Meyer are magical (no pun intended) writers. I am HUGE fans of both series - although new to the Twilight series, but I am enjoying the books and thoroughly enjoyed both films. I've followed Harry Potter since day one, and the thought of this fantasy world coinciding with our reality is a wonderful thought, however it is just a fantasy. I understand that we get heated up when we feel SO strongly about something as - sorry to say, trivial - this. I do get really involved with the characters when reading the books, and shamefully admit I get upset when I finish a book, but I think that that is all down to the way the authors portray their writing, both convey images in out minds that we feel a part of and therefore get heated up about when arguments such as these crop up, but all I wanted to say is that it is quite upsetting to see that many of you are falling out over somthing you are all so passionate about.

Some points are the same though. Ex: Character moves to different place. S/He is atoumatically liked by some people because they are beautiful/famous. Both have to fight through villian after villian. Finally they reach they're goal. Ex2: Lavender (Sp?) and Hermione both like Ron. Edward and Jacob both like Bella. But I see your point. They are different series.

I give up. You people (renrae, november99, bbshipper...) win. This fight`s been going on for far too long, and I just give up. I`ve already apoligized for some things, but I am sorry for everything I said that was mean, or possibly, immature. You win. Congratulations. But to be honest, I don`t even know what the hell the fight`s about anymore (or how it started). actually, there are quite a few vampire books. But, I'll agree that although Twilight probably did ruin the image of vampires and did several other things, it did not copy from harry potter.

I do beleive the original post, Twilight is a Romeo and Juliet love story, as are many love stories in our contemporary literature, but I think that Twilight could be acused of playing upon girls emotions, I mean come on, do you know a guy THAT amazing? Guys are only humans and shouldn't feel inferior to a fictional character. Don't get me wrong though. I LOVE TWILIGHT :) but have been a fan of Harry Potter since day one.

Angel (The hottewst vampire in the world. Not even sparkly!Edward can defeat his hottness. Because that is how hot he is!), from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, drank animal blood. The superpowers thing, not so much, but he had a heart and didn't abuse his girlfriend. (Okay, that is debatable, but STILL!) We had an argument somewhere that talked about MANY different things that it looked like Steph had copied from. It seems like she took every superhero, vampire, and romance novel in history and then just melded it all together. BTW, I loooove your icon. :)) So, yeah, Twilight could have copied lots of things.

I did give Twilight a chance. It had many flaws, Mary Sue's, plot holes, flat characters, and was Edward was abusive. And personally, I'm not too obsessed with either. I have other things to do, these were just books I liked/disliked.

The problem here iz that at first Hp was the book with mass fan following but now it has to share the spotlight with twilight.Now remember guys there jst 'sharing' fame nt taking it away from one another.Both r great books:-)

They just so happen to split their movie (Breaking Dawn when it is not needed because they don't have enough things to fill 4 total hours between the 2 parts) after Deathly Hallows says they will (which is completely needed.)

Then they just happen to put Breaking Dawn Part 1 a week after Deathly Hallows Part 1 comes out?

Even Bridget Jones has that in common - so I guess they're all copy cats!
