WHY DO PEOPLE COMPARE TWILIGHT WITH HARRY POTTER???

People want other people to think their fav. book is the best so they compare it with another best seller, one that everyone knows, so people think Oh, sence ____ (hp or t) is so good, and they say (the other book) is better, than i should read it, or tell my bffs, or post it on youtube etc.

The Media started this when the First Twilight movie came out. They said " Twilight is the new Harry Potter and Stephenie Meyer is the New JK Rowling" and they continue to compare them in all their articles and tv shows. And frankly it pisses us Harry Potter fans off to think we are getting replaced just because we are " ending". I dont think so. Harry Potter maybe ending soon as far as movies go but its legacy will live on forever where as Twilight is more a fad. Its fanbase is already dying down. But thats what happens when you overexpose something.

I'm not always so sure myself.
To me, the only thing they have in common with one another is that they were bestsellers.

Or perhaps, that's reason enough. *shrugs*

I've thought about this many times myself. I've come to realize that it's not the books, but the FANS. I mean, think about it: for a long time, HP fans thought that Harry Potter was THE book series for teens. But when Twilight came along, fans became just as dedicated to Twilight as the "Potheads" were dedicated to HP. So when the "Twihards" were all "Twilight is the best book series EVER!" the "Potheads" were all "Um, excuse me? No, HP DOMINATES!" So when it comes down to it, it's all about each set of fans thinking that their book series is better, and because of this, they clash.

Some dudes compared Twilight to HP (how dare they?) and yeah, this happened...

Can say that i wondered this like over a million times , i am a fan of both but honestly i couldn't ever see anything they had in common except that Robert Pattinson played in both movies.First of all Harry Potter is a kick-ass adventure,fantasy book(movie) while Twilight is a romantic fantasy book(movie).So the second thing that they would have in common is the fact that they fantasy but heck there are a looot of fantasy book, and in the end all this comparison comes from the press cause they did it the first time and that was just because Rob played in both.I honestly can't see the comparison but eh who the hell cares what i think.
