Well, I read about it once on the Internet. It spiked my interest, but didn't want to buy it at first. Then my aunt gave the first book to me on Christmas Day when I was 13, and expressed how numerous people were calling Twilight a great book. So I read it, and obviously liked it. ^_^

Well... I saw a commercial for the movie on TV and, honesty, thought it looked stupid and overrated. Then, my friends kept annoying me to read it because they did and they said it was good. So, I rented the DVD, to see if I was interested. I thought it was an ok movie, so I read the books.

I saw that a lot of people in my class loved it and were obsessed with it. My dad (who was a teacher) said that a lot of his students also loved it, so I got the whole series for Christmas. I waited until after I read the first one to watch the movie.

XD That's usually the bad way to go though. I remember bitching the entire way out of the theatre because I thought the first movie was terrible compared to the book.

I had heard about it through friends and saw stuff about it on the internet. So I decided to check it out. I was pretty excited actually, because it was about vampires :)

I first read about Twilight in the news paper. I didn’t really think I could get into a series about Vampires. But I ordered the first book anyway, and I read it. Now I love everything to do with Vampire lore. I have read the books over and over again, probably like 10 times each.

There was a lot of Twilight hype at my school when Breaking Dawn came out, and a lot of people said it was good but I didn't particularly want to read them. Then I saw the trailer for the film and I thought it looked alright so I'd read the books first, then see the movie.

I read them on holiday, loved them, got over it, and I'm no longer a Twilight fan... partially because of "Move over Harry Potter," but mainly because I don't think they're very good.

Yes, the " Move over Harry Potter and SM is the new Jo Rowling" is a big turn off.

I'm not a fan of Twilight, but I can answer the question anyway, if that's okay.
It was just before Christmas 2009, I think, and I was searching the web for Paramore stuff. (I don't really listen to Paramore anymore.) I found the song that is on the Twilight soundtrack, and because Hayley Williams spoke warmly of the series in an interview, I decided I should check it out.

Time passed, and everyone but me had read the books and seen the first movie. I later saw the film on an iPod belonging to one of my friends. I didn't think much of it at the time, as the quality was bad, the sound low, and I wasn't really paying attention. Another friend of mine recommended the book. (Though I don't think she really liked it. She was just hopelessly in love at the time, and was seeing everything through her pink-and-glittery,-the-world-is-so-wonderful-glasses. She is now more than willing to discuss plot holes with me.)
Halfway into the summer holidays, and I still hadn't made any effort to get hold of the books. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on how you look at it), I was stuck on a cabin and my sister's friend happened to have her Twilight book with her. I read it in one go, staying up til 6 in the morning. I loved it for the first few hours afterwards (I read the Norwegian transelation, so the flowery prose wasn't as bad), but then I thought more about the book and came to the conclusion that I didn't acutally like it at all. I've read the rest of the books and seen the movies for the lulz, and because I'm not going to be one of those who hate something without knowing anything about it.

Oh, God. This answer is a bit longer than I was planning on. Just ignore it. I'm in school, and I'm slightly bored...

My bestfriend had it for Christmas (I mean, in 2008), she lent me the first book, and I've read the other three in two weeks :) And then I saw the movie, wich I think is really worse than the book (I don't like Robert Pattinson ). So, now you know !

Saw it in the book store and tried to read it, YES I DID try and read the book. I fell asleep. So not a Twilight fan. And the over-exposure and over-hype is enough to make someone jump off a cliff.

I first found out about 'Twilight' when one friend from school was reading it, and she said it was really good. This was about two years ago or so. I wasn't that interested, but I read the first book anyway, and I immediately fell in lust with the series. I soon bought 'New Moon', 'Eclipse' and couldn't wait for 'Breaking Dawn' to come out. I was obsessive by that point, changing my Bebo layout - yes, when I liked 'Twilight', I also had 'Bebo' - to quotes such as 'Cold, dead and sparkling? Yes, please' and other sad stuff. But then, I read 'Breaking Dawn', and pretty much felt like shooting myself for liking such a shit series (in my opinion). The 'move over Harry Potter' pissed me off more than anything, and then it just became the most overrated piece of crap to walk this planet. By the time the 'Twilight' trailer had hit YouTube, I had thankfully reverted to an anti.

P.S. I used to be a fan, so does that count? Probably not, but I thought I should answer the question anyway ... :)

In my English class around 2 years ago, we were doing these book projects. You know, pick a book, do something about it (I did it on Eragon by Christopher Paolini if you're curious lol best books in the world!!). A girl in my class did Twilight. Since I love romance, vampires, and fantasy, I decided to check it out. I bought the book and read it, and I in fact enjoyed it.
After that I bought and read all of the series (except Breaking Dawn, it was an X-Mas present), and I saw the movie like any fangirl. I was a total fangirl by the end of 2008...until I googled twilight and found an article talking about it's bad points and how Bella's a bad rolemodel. I began researching the plotholes in the story, and now I'm in between neutral and anti :) That's my story
