I AM DONE ANSWERING THIS QUESTION. It's all the same! "twilight iz so mch btr thn hp, hp sux"... and they ALWAYS say that it has good writing, and the characters are "hotter". It annoys me so much, just go back and read the previous questions! It's not really that hard just to look them up. I'm also sick of trying to decipher what the heck these questions say. It's called GRAMMAR, learn it! (btw, NOT saying all Twilight fans are like this, but it's super annoying when a majority of them on this spot type like that...)

Ok, I'm going to explain this ONE more time. I wouldn't care if this was an actual intelligent debate but I'm getting tired of answering these SAME EXACT QUESTIONS:

1. Harry Potter has an overall incredible plot, and tons of subplots. Twilight barely has anything you could call a "plot", and don't try to tell me it does, because I'm not changing my opinion, though I respect yours.
2. Harry Potter has ENDLESS details, twists, foreshadowing, and almost every name meaning of a character/place/creature has to do with what it is (Ex: Malfoy means bad faith).
3. Harry Potter has countless characters with their own distinct personalities, and each play a very important and unique role in the war agianst Voldemort.
4. Harry Potter has good role models, and teaches morals to it's audience, and inspires to be brave. Also, it teaches loyalty to your friends. I truly believe that the romance in Harry Potter is a hundred times better than the romance in the "romance saga"

I could go on and on, but at least I'm going to say that this is just my OPINION. I ususally don't mind people who like Twilight, but when they completely shut down other peoples opinions, and are just entirely rude in general, it just annoys me to NO END... (caps and no grammar doesn't help) thanks for not raping the caps lock key at least!

Its all a matter of opinion. I like Twilight because I like vampires and romantic stories. But if you like more of action books and magic then you will most likely like Harry potter better.

1) Jacob and Edward being hot does not add to Twilight in ANY way. Most people don't read books because the actors in the movies are hot.

2)I barely understand your question, do you mean rude by rood? Please, when asking a question, just type the words out.

3) Yes, Twilight has a plot, but there are many mistakes in that plot. A lot of the book is also Bella talking about how perfect Edward is. (Yes, I did read the books, and I do like Twilight, I just like HP better)

4) Twilight's characters also do not have much depth, as opposed to HP's characters.

5) You can have your opinion that Twilight is better, but people will have their own opinions that may differ from yours. Most HP fans are only rude when a Twilight fan is being rude to them first.

Look, I think you're being quite stereotypical here. Sure, HP fans can be rude at times, but so can Twilight fans.

Also, you can't complain about HP fans being rude then turn around and do exactly the same thing.

The ONLY reason I got out of what you said for Twilight "being better than" Harry Potter is that Edward and Jacob are "hotter than any of the HP guys." Okay, how do you know what Edward, Jacob, and the HP guys look like? They're fictional. I think you're meaning the ACTORS. Secondly, um, no. In MY opinion, Robert Pattinson is just flat out ugly. My opinion. And Taylor's attractive, but in the teen heartthrob way that I don't like. It seems like that's all he has is physical attractiveness, anyway. In your OPINION. That's the key. In my OPINION, Harry Potter is better than Twilight. In fact, it is quite difficult to defend Twilight against something as amazing as Harry Potter.

Okay, what is the plot, then? No, two people staring at each other's prettiness does not count as a plot. The rare occasions a plot is somewhat shown, nothing happens with it until the last minute; it's just staring at each other.

Okay, so the characters are physically good looking. Great. So what? At least we Harry Potter lovers realize that there is more to a character than physical appearance. You may not agree, but an amazing personality FAR outweighs being good-looking and abusive and arrogant and cowardly like SOME characters I know of *cough*Edward-and-Jacob*cough*

All right... ready for a long answer?

First of all, in my opinion, Harry Potter fans aren't that rude. We come up with great and detailed arguements and responses on why we think HP is better, and we may get a bit smart-alecky along the way, or whatever you want to call it. It's when you Twilight fans start obsessing over Edward and going "OMG EDWAAAAAAAAARD i mean lyk how can you NOT like him, lol" we start to get a little irritated and defensive. And it's YOUR OPINION Twilight's better, not ours.

Secondly, yes, Twilight DOES have a plot, but a very weak one that doesn't seem to support the story at all. All Bella does is angst and obsess over "Who should I choose: Edward or Jacob??? I mean I LOVE Edward but I guess I don't want to hurt Jake's feelings... I guess I'll have to drag him along with me for three books and break his heart before telling him I choose Edward! hahaha..." Admit it: NOTHING relevant to the story happens until the last 100 or so pages of the books! Some may argue over the whole love-triangle thing between Edward vs. Jacob, but honestly, everybody knew who Bella would pick in the end, so all the extra "plot twists" of her secretly loving Jacob were pointless. There was no conflict in the books except until the last few chapters, when SMeyer suddenly realized she needed a problem to go along with her story, and rushed to finish the book with what she thought was an intriguing cliffhanger. (Which it kind of was - trust me, I used to be a fan.) There was nothing relevant in the plotline for most of the book; we could have just skipped to the ending and realized exactly what they were talking about, even though we missed the first 20 chapters. THAT'S what we mean by no plot.

While in Harry Potter, EVERY chapter is important for the storyline to progress. If you skipped even ONE chapter, you would totally get confused after a page and have to look back on the chapter you skipped because you have no idea what's going on. The conflicts arise very early in the plot, even if you don't realize it yet. Some chapters of the book may seem pointless, but once you look back on it once you finish the book you have a thrilling "a-ha!" moment, which is very awkward in public when everybody is looking at you.

And lastly, WHAT does having hot (*cough*notreally*cough*) guys in the book have ANYTHING to do with it. So WHAT if you believe the character is good-looking? Does that do anything to the storyline? And before I forget, Harry Potter DOES have hot guys... you guys are just so infatuated with your precious Eddiekins and Jakie that you can't see what's right in front of your eyes... *coughs awkwardly*

And I must say, WHERE did you learn to type? I could hardly read that at all.

I think this is a pretty good question. And I have a pretty good answer.

The main reason some people don’t like Twilight is because they don’t understand the new Vampires. Back in the day, vampires didn’t go out in the sunlight, they didn’t sparkle, and they actually slept. But I think Stephanie Meyer has -if you will- revamped the whole lore about vampires, instead of being painted as the villains, their the heroes, well the good ones anyway. And when I say they don’t understand it I mean they don’t want to except that vampire stories have evolved with the times.

well for starts you need to give reasons for likeing twilight better ive answered a question simmalar to this stateing all the reasons i have for likeieng harry potter better. i dont have anything against twilight i just can never find any reasons to like it better.

Twilight's not better, in my opinion. In fact, in my opinion, Harry Potter is so much better, Twilight can't even compare. So yeah. Also, it doesn't matter how hot the characters in a book are. I don't know about you, but I usually look to the plot when I decide whether I like a book or not.

And if you use the reasoning for Twilight being better than Harry Potter because it " has hotter guys" well my dear that right there shows that these books are not helping people get past the " shallow attitude." I read an article that after Harry Potter alot of people who have " dorky" glasses felt better about themselves. Plus ask yourself, what does in the end Twilight teach you about life. There are a ton of things that Harry Potter teaches people.
1. DONT STEREOTYPE
2. Even if you have all the magic you can still have alot of problems
3. Love conquers all, and Im talking about love from family and friends not puppy love
4. Racisim is bad
5. Sacrifice.

And, in Harry Potter, JKR didn't need to tell us what Harry looked like. EVERY. SINGLE. SENTENCE. She only mentioned his looks when it was important. Here's a person judging a piece of true literature while he/she (I'm pretty sure it's a she) doesn't know how to spell 'Why', 'Is', 'Everyone', 'rude', 'better', 'than', 'my', 'opinion', 'just', 'that's', 'don't', 'be', 'mean', 'does', 'have.' Wow.

Well... it's not better. It does not have a plot- there are huge chunks of information missing. Even the biggest Twilight fan out there will never be able to explain why Edward can't read Bella's mind. I doubt Stephenie Meyer can explain that.
Another reason is that literature doesn't depend on the attractiveness of the males in the story. No one cares (except you, maybe... and a 1000 other rabid fangirls) that Jacob and Edward are hot. Edward is abusive and over-possessive. That cancels out the hotness for me. The boys in Harry Potter actually have personalities. Same goes with the Twilight girls.

I know Twilight gets just as much press as Harry Potter but I have to say, which will never change, Harry Potter is way better than Twilight. Both books and movies. My opinion other than the books and the movies is that the acting is better. Daniel Radcliffe was so much better than Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. He is using a fake American accent which by the way sucks. It's just so boring and lame. I mean come on 'vampires that sparkle when sunlight hits them'? that is like the dumbest thing I've ever read or seen. The Twilight movies are plain awful and Stephanie Meyer as an author of those teeny bopper books is not a good one. J K Rowling, is so good, she has people from every age group reading her books, her books are that good. She has made millions off of her books, people know what Harry Potter is more than they know what Twilight is. Also Twilight is prejudice concerning sexuality, race, religion. It's just not a good book series. I don't care if you don't agree with this, this is just my opinion which I am aloud to have.
