Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Question

This has probably been asked already but I'm gonna ask it again

Does it seem like, the Twilight series, in everybody's opinion, seems to be more about the movies more than the books? And same goes for Harry Potter, to the people who haven't read the books yet or anything, they might've just watched the movies and based their opinions on that, which, to me, doesn't seem fair. For both series, you can't base your opinions on something that isn't accurate in the first place! The books came first, and they 're always better. It just seems, to me, that most opinions are coming from the movie versions. What do you guys think, Twi-hards and Potheads?

I think that some people do base their opinions on movies, not books, but I think most of the Potheads and Twihards are on this spot because we love the original-the book.

I'm not just saying this because I'm a Pothead, but I honestly think that most of Twilight's popularity is because of the movies. THAT'S when it really started getting popular. I hate it when people claim that they are "obsessed with twilight" and they've only seen the movie a couple times and really don't know any basic facts about it. I find that really pathetic.

Being completely streight-forward, a LOT of Twilight fans that I know have only seen the movies, and pretend they know everything about it

I think people only like Twilight because of the movie. Twilight the book came out in 2005 but almost no one read it. The movie came out last year and all of a sudden people are in love with it? No. They're in 'love' with how hot the cast is.

Yeah... I only see some comments like,"Harry is HAWT!" Yet I see a lot of comments like,"Edward is a HAWT vampire!" I think Twi-Hards base their opinion on the movie, not the book.

I mean, you can't really call a book character hot (don't get me wrong, I've had book crushes before, but not because of their appearence)

Yes. Actually, I never knew Twilight until the movie came out. Usually, HP fans base their opinions on the movies, and sometimes, the book. Twilight fans say Edward's hot because Robert Pattinson is "hot", or at least I think they do. But Twilight fans base their opinions on the books too (like saying Twilight is "love")

I think your right. I am a Twilight fan. A lot of people talk more about the movies then the books and a lot of people judge the books based on the movies. Personally I think the movies sucked compared to the books. So I don't think its fair to judge them based on the movies. As for Harry potter, I have never read the books. I just love the movies. I know that the books are probably better then the movies but I've just never read them.

Yeah when you base your facts on movies that aren't really even that accurate (you even said the TWilight movies sucked; same did the HP movies) it just screws up your perception on everything.
