I hate anyone that thinks their nation is better than ours but I don't think most Americans are like that, just a few morons but then again there are few British morons who think they are better than Americans
I love England so much, especially after I've read Austen's novels
I wish I was american!! :(
They totally rock!
Oh and y the way, we don't all use the word "like" everytime we talk.
(:
But its soooo annoying just cos they bigger than us!
its like persil - small and mighty lol!
There's good and bad people in each and every country so to hate a WHOLE country is pathetic if u ask me
I love The UK though! I have an awesome friend who lives in England...
I love being American, especially on the 4th of July! Makes me feel proud! *taps heart* You feel it right there!
p.s for those of you who REALLY don't like Americans,( ahem....not naming any names) I am so sorry you feel that way. I don't think that we are better than you! You guys are awesome!( I know totally American!)
This American says that Britain is 100 times more better than America! and if I could, I would defect to Britain and legally become her citizen!in fact it is my ultimate dream!
If anyone knows of anyone who can help me make this dream a reality, send them my way!
A few examples I've seen on this site alone:
- Someone from another country is talking about different levels of education. They use phrases like "primary school", "secondary school", "college", and "university". An American then says that they are using phrases that are incorrect because in America you have "middle school" and "high school", etc. But when an American uses their phrases, you're far less likely to ever see someone from another country correcting them.
-In another spot, someone got told off for describing feminism because they weren't from America, and apparently "American feminism" is more valid than the rest of the world? Fortunately, the person who was not from America actually challenged them on this.
-Also, on a pick asking if you were from America, the "no" option actually said, "no, I'm foreign". Hmm.
The wording of this pick isn't quite accurate, but I think it brings up a fair point. Americans don't seem to think they're "better" than other people, but sometimes they seem to think that they are more "valid". It's not the fault of the individuals, it's just a heck of a double standard that doesn't get called out very often.
You can't blame 'em, really. They're the main focus of mainstream media. It's like people assuming that male is the default gender and white is the default skin colour. The media controls the minds of the masses and so much of it comes from America, and so it's easy for them to see themselves as the default nationality and then get confused when they are challenged for it.
