Is irland a part of Great Britain or the UK?

I get so confused lol! And i keep answering it wrong in geography (its like disney channel, school, everything repeats itself)

Yes and No, Northern Ireland is part of the UK, her capital is Belfast, however The Southern part of Ireland is not, her capital is Dublin.
