Chuck's thoughts after episode 1 of Season 2 (his frustrations in not being able to say those words) and how he plans to win Blair back...or the beginning revelations of it...PLEEEEEEEEASE REVIEW! =D

.................

"That's all I need, Chuck. Three words, eight letters, and I'm yours," she spoke with such sincerity and yet such an extreme bitterness.

Chuck stared on at her in disbelief of what she had just requested of him. He had to spit something out. He had to say something. He just didn't know it would be this difficult. Of course, he had very strong feelings for her and he knew he loved her, but the summer had been twisted and difficult for him...and now that he knew for sure he wanted Blair, felt like an idiot for ditching her in the first place...yet he couldn't open his mouth and speak those three words that pounded through his heart day and night.

Blair raised her eyebrows and folded her arms.

"I...I.." he stuttered.

Blair sighed predictably. "That's all I needed..." she turned and walked away. She met up with James who was standing a mere few feet away, luckily he hadn't caught any of the prior conversation. She started giggling as they waltzed away together. Suddenly the no-nothing bore was a big somebody to her now. I guess royalty can do that to a Waldorf, to an Upper East Sider at least.

Chuck waited until nearly everyone had left and then he punched his fist into the post beside him, wincing in pain afterwards and glancing at the bits of blood draining from his knuckles. "I love you..." he mutterd, and sighed. "I love you."

A couple days passed and nearly nothing had changed. Blair was now officially dating Lord Marcus and enjoying every minute of it. Although it would not be completely honest if she had admitted to no tears after her confrontation wtih Chuck some nights earlier. She had not taking the greatest pleasure as well in the fact that Chuck had bonded with James. She sighed disgustingly just thinking about it.

"What is it?" Serena asked, sensing aggravation in her best friend.

Blair put her thoughts away. "It's nothing."

"B?"

Blair sighed again. "It's just...he doesn't love me, and now he's friends with James and this is all so wrong!"

Serena looked at her friend with sympathy. "I thought you were done with Chuck. You were never going to forgive him.."

"I am done. And I won't ever forgive him, especially not after the stunt he just pulled. Ugh." Blair plastered a fake smile across her pained face.

"Oh B, it's okay to admit you still have feelings for him."

"But I don't!" she said, in a very matter-of-fact tone.

Serena backed off. "Okay...whatever you say."

"I don't," Blair muttered. They continued their walk down the strip mall bordering the beach, and Blair's thoughts drifted back to Chuck. Her face fell.

"I just don't understand. Why couldn't I say it?" Chuck questioned Nate.

Nate looked up at him in confusion. "Since when do you ever second guess your actions? Don't you have a plan of some sorts? Besides, I thought you wanted the ladies now. Commitment, not for you type deal? Isn't that why you ditched Blair in the first place?"

"Cancelled my prior engagement with her is what I did," Chuck said, clearing his throat.

"Ah, is that what you call it?" Nate snickered.

Chuck sighed. "Yes, as a matter of fact I do. And I don't usually second guess anything I do. My name alone states that whatever I do is okay, because well...I'm Chuck Bass," he smiled smugly.

Nate laughed. "Right, so what's the change?"

Chuck sighed again. "I'm..."

"In love?" he asked, sentimentally.

"Yeah, that thing."

Nate laughed again. "Well, you screwed over Blair pretty good my man, and all she was asking you to do was tell her you love her, which you do...then, why...?"

"I don't know!" Chuck got up off the couch in his suite and paced to the other side of the room and back. "I just...I..."

"What?"

"I've never had to say that before."

Nate looked at him with a new found wonder, and then smiled.

"So, what do I do?"

Nate smiled again, came over and patted him on the shoulder. "I'm sure you'll figure something out." He started walking to the door.

"That's it?"

Nate smirked. "Yeah." He paused. "You've got a way with Blair. Use your charm."

Chuck laughed. "I do have an incredible amount of that..."

"Definitely. Just remember, Blair may be a nightmare when it comes to revenge, but in the end, you are unresistable to her."

Chuck smiled even wider. Nate sensed a plan brewing, nodded his head and headed out. Chuck went back to the couch, picked up his phone and dialed a number...waiting with sudden patience as the phone began to ring. Blair would be hosting a summer party today and he would make it one she would never forget.
