Ok i usually rate the Gossip Girl spot and The Chuck and Blair spot and the crediting is becomeing a big problem!
I am a strict rater if something has no credit i will rate it 1!
But latly ive been having to rate 3 or 4 pages all 1s!
People have to stop doing this! there is credit for a reason and people have to do it!
LJ does NOT count as credit! It has to be either the Link where you got the images from or the name of the person who made them!

I understand that a lot of new people dont understand how to credit but please learn and start doing it!
i make icons myself and if my stuff was posted without credit i would be annoyed!
i seriously want to start rating all the content high because some of it is really really god stuff but i dont care if tis amazing if it has no credit it will be rated 1!

sophialover Agreed. It`s just that i think people don`t get how important crediting is. I used to add imaged and just credit them as "lj" which was pretty pathetic. But then i realised i HAD to add the name of the maker as well. Now i just copy and paste the link from where i got a particular image from and it`s done.

emma-may sorry people not crediting effects you how? im getting confused. people post there stuff on the internet they exsept they it could get posted without credit. thousands of people do it and i hate to say it but you aint going to be able to stop it. btw have you checked with these people it's ok to just throw in a link to theyre page and diss them as much as you like? now that would annoy me. at the end of the day its no big deal. i wouldnt upload pictures to the internet if i cared that much about crediting. just my opinion.

livelovelaugh i havnt put in a link to their page! ive covered up the names and userpicks of the examples i used! and its not the point weather it "effects" me its copyright! you cant post something as your own and no credit is just as bad as doing that!

ritergrl Actually, I upload my stuff on LJ & whatnot and no WAY do I expect my stuff to go without credit. It's not as bad with vids, cause you click it & go to the page but seriously, it's important.

livelovelaugh and because people spend time on making them and are really proud of what they have done and if they dont even get credit for it is just rude!

ritergrl & techincally, using other people's work without credit and for your own gain (medals) is illegal. Obviously you're not gonna get sued for not crediting, but you know, it's the princapil.

dermer4ever exactly everything S said i mean people its not that hard when you upload put in who made it or where you found it and until you actually make stuff you don't know the time and effort it takes to do it

kristine95 I do agree that you have to credit, but not hotlinking. A lot of LJ users prefer being credited with their name and not with hotlinking. If you look at an icon posted here that's credited with the link from the exact page you got it from, the link will be too long for you to copy and paste it. 'Cause before the link is finished, it'll end up in three dots in stead. So basically, that's wrong crediting as well. If you bother to take icons from LJ then you can't be too lazy to credit the LJ user that made it. Imagine it being your own stuff and someone hotlinked it when they reposted it somewhere, and the whole link wasn't shown. Would that be right crediting? Would you accept it?

mesmerized Awesome article! This is really starting to annoy me. I only rate stuff if its properly credited and NOT a repeat, something else thas really annoying *rolles eyes*
