WARNING: SPOILERS for 6x08
This is just my opinion, so Derena fans, please don't bite my head off. I had to let out my feelings.
Dan and Serena have broken up and gotten back together for like a million times. And each time they get back together, they only last 2 or 3 episodes before they decide to break up again. This shows that don't work, as everytime they get back together, 2 or 3 episodes later, something comes up that makes them fight and break up.
Nate handles a Serena episode better than Dan. Nate went through a similar situation wtih Serena in season 3, that Dan went through with Serena in season 1. Lets compare how these guys handled these similar situations.
Dan(Season 1)
Dan hooked up with Georgina before they were even officially broken up, hours after Serena told him she cheated on him. When he found out the truth, he helped her, but he broke up with her in the end.
Nate(Season 3)
Nate was mad at Serena for all the lying, but was patient with her. Even when he thought she left town with Carter, he patiently waited for her to return. He didn't hook up with Jenny, even if she kept throwing herself at him. And when she told him the whole story, he forgave her and stood by her side instead of breaking up with her. He didn't break up her and was even willing to forgive her for kissing Dan.
Dan only has bad things to say about Serena. In his book, he had good things to say about Blair who was from Serena's world, but he had only bad things to say about Serena. he called her a shallow, self-absorbed party girl. If that wasn't enough, Dan even wrote an expose on her, a year later full of horrible things about her. Not only that, he used her to do it by getting back together with her. I don''t think Dan really loves Serena. Like Serena said in 6x08, "You couldn't say these things about me if you loved me" Dan has always felt insecure in Serena's world and he can't handle Serena being Serena. They've been having disputes about this since 1x02. Dan's a nice guy, but i think he's more suitable with someone from his world who doesn't make him feel insecure and someone with lesser drama/baggage than Serena.
Nate on the other hand loves Serena for who she is. He doesn't judge her like Dan does, and he's always there for her, even when he's mad her. Serena can be herself around Nate. He's also protective of her and deeply cares about her her. He punched Trip for her in 3x12, he gave up his expose on GG which was supposed to be the big story that saved the Spectator to find Serena, he was upset that Serena let Steven kiss her cheek when he thought Steven was cheating on her, he was not happy when he found out that she got back together with Dan, he punched Dan for writting an expose on her in 6x08.
Furthermore, Dan and Serena are step siblings who share a brother. Even if their not siblings by blood, it's still incest, especially if you consider the fact that they share a brother. If Serena and Chuck consider themselves siblings even if her mom was only married to his dad for a few months before he supposedly died, (even after Bart supposedly died) shouldn't Dan and Serena consider themselves siblings, considering his dad was married to her mom for 2 years.
I wish the writers were more faithful to the books. In the books, Nate's the guy Serena's always loved, but in the show, the writers do a 180 and make Dan the love of her life. In the books, Dan and Serena only went on 2 dates in the second book, and then Serena ended it because she found his obsession with her creepy. The writers wrote this show based on the characters in the book, but yet they were only 70% faithful to the first book in the pilot. After the pilot, they completely changed the story, Even if they changed the story, the least they could have done was to be faithful to Serena's character. They not only did a 180 with Derena, they also did a 180 with Serena’s character. I wonder how Cecily, the creator of these characters, feels about this.
In 4x11, Derena agreed that if they ever got back together, it would be their last shot. Now that they've gotten back gotten back together again in 6x06 and broke up again in 6x08 ("Shocker"), that was their final shot, and it didn't work out. It wouldn't make sense for Dan/Serena to get back together after blowing what they agreed was their final shot. Like Serena said "We either sink or swim" and they sank.
I really hope Serenate is endgame. Even if they're not, i'd happy enough with both N and S being single at the end.

Season 2

According to Gossip Girl, over the summer Dan went from "Lonely Boy to Playboy". Dan occupied himself by having continuous dates throughout the summer, with Serena still on his mind. Due to Dan's emotional complications, he is unable to complete an essay he was to submit. This ultimately results in his being fired due to his lack of commitment. Upon being fired from his summer job, he heads to the Hamptons upon realizing that he has been missing Serena. He hopes that by seeing Serena he will realize that they made the right decision, and he can move on.

He arrives in the Hamptons, at...

What color hair do you have?

Sincerely,
Bergdorf Brunette

Dear Bergdorf Brunette,
I think this is a trick question. By revealing my hair color I would be revealing one of my features. I plead the fifth on this one.

xo xo,
Gossip Girl.

Dear Gossip Girl,
I am so embarrassed. Like I want to hide under my sheets for the rest of my life and never come out until graduation in four years. I did this dumb thing at a party and now I’m afraid the entire world knows about it. How can I make everyone forget about it as well as show my face again?

Sincerely,
Mortified Mary

Dear Mortified Mary,
People will forgive but they will never forget. Trust me. If you want to be part of this world people will talk. You just need to learn to accept it. If you can’t play with the sharks then get out of the water. You need to stand tall with your head high and face the UES. For better or worse.
001. Because forbidden love gives us drama and we love that.

002. Because she’s back and he wants her.

003. Because you’ll never forget your first.

004. Because she is the girl of his dreams.

005. Because he left his half-naked girlfriend in the room when he heard her name.

006. Because Blake/Chace have “great on-screen chemistry”.

007. Because their love is bitter sweet.

008. Because they look perfect together.

009. Because, “the best friend and the boyfriend” belong together.

010. Because, simply: they heat up our screens.

011. Because he just couldn’t stay away.

012. Because he accepts...

Gossip girl has adopted a cloned feature of single streamed story-lines, without any real development or substance. Characters develop overnight personalities and the actual 'Gossip Girl' is now used to relay simple jokes, that we could actually do without, as her story is unexplained. It leaves me wondering whether or not the writers personally chose these stories to insult fan intelligence, or if they are carrying this series down a road where inspiration has lost it's taste.

I used this episode as the final decision maker behind this conclusive realization. This would possibly be my final...

I have to be honest, I wasn't really excited for Gossip Girl's return. It didn't leave a huge impression last break, which was probably why this review took so long to post. They story-lines revolved around Chuck, Blair, Lily, Jenny, Serena and a few minor appearances from Dan and Rufus. I didn't expect much here, so basically anything that actually flowed enough for me to tolerate, was easily eaten up.

The main focal point for me was with Jenny and this 'drug' sequence. It surprises me how quickly Jenny could make a 'designer' top flawlessly. I don't understand why she hasn't channeled her...

Gossip Girl aspires to achieve a certain goal every time a new episode is aired. Here we had a self depressing Chuck, a misguided Serena, a sibling rivalry and thorn marriages. Now Gossip Girl has taken the road where the end would justify the means and all the other pieces before it could simply fall out of place, so long as everything ends in accordance with the script.

That is why we have characters poking in and out of episodes without any sort of development or back story as to how they claimed even a second of screen time. We also have characters falling in and out of love like a misused...

I am going to be frank from the beginning, I really do not like the direction the writers of Gossip Girl are going with this show. This episode bears no exception. I mean I really tried to find some interest in the new Vanessa Dan storyline, Blair's crazy obsession with the play and Jenny's experimenting stage, but I couldn't. I have accepted that Gossip Girl has found its way into this type of political drama and lost sight of why fans loved the series in the beginning. Yet for the past few weeks now, washed down writing has become frequent and honestly I could do without it.

Vanessa-Dan-Olivia...

Even someone without Blair Waldorf's unerring nose for sexual tension would have caught a whiff of the mammalian scent in the air on Gossip Girl last night. Pheromones coursed through the characters' bodies like so many high-grade drugs transported from Holland by a disaffected diplomat's son: The previous episode's ménage, we learned, has changed the chemistry of the relationship between Dan, Vanessa, and Olivia, after Olivia suspects Dan and Vanessa's feelings for each other go beyond friendship, which Dan awkwardly confirms when, during the gang's ridiculous performance of Snow White, he...

The Headband Project, a campaign to bring back the fierce writing and characterization that has been sorely lacking from Gossip Girl for some time, especially for the female characters. The show has created some of the most interesting characters of our time, which is a major reason we got hooked on the show. But now it seems what made these characters great has been thrown out the window, and this bothers us immensely.

Blair, Serena and Jenny used to be the epitome of feminism but now, not only are they dumbed down, they're being treated as weaklings. That is the reason we chose this name for...

A new article by Kristin Dos Santos of E! Online helps narrow down the possibilities for the upcoming Gossip Girl threesome scene, and you may be surprised.

Check out her clues below, along with some other miscellaneous scoop on Chair and Serenate, and see if that means we can now pinpoint who is involved.

We could've sworn it wouldn't work without someone in particular ...

* One of the participants is not someone you would expect to film a threesome. That said, it's not over-the-top racy (it's the CW) so this actor's fairly pure image will probably just be a wee bit soiled, but not diiiirrrrty....

Bree Buckley was in Texas during last night's episode, but she'll be back soon enough. The bad news for Nate Archibald? She's got an agenda.

Meanwhile, Jenny Humphrey will soon be getting a new boyfriend named Damien. Word has it that he could be a bad influence on her, as well.

Here's what E! Online has to say about both characters ...

Q: I really like Bree and Nate together on Gossip Girl this season. Please tell me that Joanna Garcia is sticking around for a while?!

A: Sorry, Bree's not exactly a paragon of sweetness and light. Her intentions might not be as pure as we've been led to believe. The redheaded Gossip Girl newcomer mostly just wants revenge on Carter, and she wants it bad.

Better luck next time, Nate.

Q: What's up with this new guy coming to Gossip Girl?

A: Damien (Kevin Zegers) is bad news. If you like raccoon-eyed Little J, you're in luck, because sources tell us Damien's going to bring Jenny "to a dark place."

Break out the mascara and eyeliner, J.
Secrets eat those who consume it themselves.
'The Lost Boy' was all about secrets being revealed despite the consequences.

Sometimes only when you get closer to the boiling pot you realize how hot it is and that's exactly what Scott found out when he got too close to the fire with a failed attempt in revealing his true identity to his biological father. It was actually a huge let down watching Scott get cold feet after all the lies he spun to reach there. It was even worse when he dropped that huge bomb on Vanessa, asking her to keep his secret safe. We all know what happens then, seeing as Georgina...
