Everywhere that you see, people who think of religion view it in some very depressing and oppressive matters, especially when it came to the "role" of women; I guess I can see why: many old-fashioned patriarchs would use religious documents to justify why women belong in a specific role of life as the homemaker who must serve her husband hand and foot, especially Christian men, who use the punishment of Eve to justify making women "obey" their male counterparts. They turn to the Bible constantly to justify "gender roles" where women should listen to their husbands and husbands should command their wives and treat them as children or second-class citizens. Little do these patriarchs know, though, is that the greatest human figure they look up to, Jesus, was a Feminist, himself... *collective gasps*
Okay, now that I've allowed you readers enough time to take in this new and bizarre information and gasp in surprise and awe, let me tell you how I came to this conclusion:
As a web surfer, I tend to take in a lot of information and perspectives as I can handle, especially when it came to topics that I care about, like Feminism and Christianity. I read a lot of interesting...

I have seen ALOT of comments saying that the HolyGhost isnt real and you cant catch it and that its satanic. Also some say that speaking in tounges is foolish. And some (not all) comments are by Christians. And some even ask where in the Bible does it say that? Well in the book of Acts its talks alot about the HolyGhost and people being filled and speaking in tounges. And it says in the last pages of John that Jesus breathed ON the people and they received the gift of the HolyGhost.
And that is the devil trying to convince people that its Satanic. He KNOWS that if a christian catches the HolyGhost they will be healed, delivered and set free. And that in Jesus Name you will receive remission of all sins. DONT fall into the tricks of the devil. Listen to Jesus and ask him to receive the HolyGhost so you can see what God can really do and fall under his Glory and power. I asked God for just one touch in church because i really was yearning for it. And then i recieved it.

The True Religion

By Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

THE RELIGION OF ISLAM

The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word "Islam" itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gotama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of "Allah" and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah's "God's" religion; the total submission to the will of Allah "God". The Arabic word "Islam" means the submission or surrender of one's will to the only true god worthy of worship "Allah" and anyone who does so is termed a "Muslim", The word also implies "peace" which is the natural consequence of total submission to the will of Allah. Hence, it was not a new religion brought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) I in Arabia in the seventh century, but only the true religion of Allah re-expressed in its final form.

Try Not To Cry

Mommy...Johnny brought a gun to school,

He told his friends that it was cool,

And when he pulled the trigger back,

It shot with a great, huge crack.

Mommy, I was a good girl, I did what I was told,

I went to school, I got straight A's, I even got the gold!

When I went to school that day,

I never said good-bye.

I'm sorry that I had to go, But Mommy, please don't cry.

When Johnny shot the gun, he hit me and another,

And all because Johnny, got the gun from his brother.

Mommy, please tell Daddy; That I love him very much,

And please tell Zack; my boyfriend; That it wasn't just a crush.

And tell my little sister; That she is the only one now,

And tell my dear sweet grandmother; I'll be waiting for her now

And tell my wonderful friends; That they always were the best

.............TRUTH.............
A poem by Susan

One day as my soul was bright

I praised our Lord with much deight.

With song I sang to please Him so

Hoping to Heaven I will go.

On my knees to Him I prayed

So His pleasure would not be delaid.

I sang and danced for Him to see

My love and faith I gave to Thee.

When I sat and prayed some more

I wanted to be His child adored.

I asked Him for a hug to feel

I knew He would, my heart appealed.

Then suddenly without delay

My soul was hugged on that day.

No words can express my feelings on this

I'm still humbled and my soul a bliss.

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said, “How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?”

The surgeon said, “I’m sorry…We did all we could, but your boy didn’t make it.”

Sally said, “Why do little children get cancer? Doesn’t God care anymore? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?”

The surgeon asked, “Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he’s transported to the university.”

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said goodbye to her son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair. Would you like a lock of his hair?” the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy’s hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally.

We are made in the image of God, born to show forth His divine creativity and power. Eph 2:10. In each of us God has deposited a gift, we must become His mirror, when people look at us they should see God, just as they see him in the flowers of the field and the sunset over the mountains. God’s people must reflect Him.

In order to reflect God we must seek to become one with Him. John17:22-23. We come into oneness with God through prayer. This oneness will allow us to know the mind of God. 1Cor2:16. When we have the mind of God we will operate in the plan and purposes of God. We will begin to show His creativity and become His divine influence. God’s gift deposited in us will be unearthed and we begin to live above and beyond the mundane.

What do we see when we stare out at the ocean, what do we see when we look at the stars or the birds of the air? We see a master creator, placing each creature on this earth having a unique form and to fulfill a specific purpose, we see God. So God has placed in each of us a specific gift so that through us He can unfold His manifold character, so that through us others will...

For the unbeliever, the fear of God is the fear of the judgment of God and eternal death, which is eternal separation from God (Luke 12:5; Hebrews 10:31). For the believer, the fear of God is something much different. The believer's fear is... reverence of God. Hebrews 12:28-29 is a good description of this: “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ’God is a consuming fire.’” This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating factor for us to surrender to the Creator of the Universe.

Proverbs 1:7 declares, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge.” Until we understand who God is and develop a reverential fear of Him, we cannot have true wisdom. True wisdom comes only from understanding who God is and that He is holy, just, and righteous. Deuteronomy 10:12, 20-21 records, “And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Fear the LORD your God...

Matthew 5:16 – ‘…let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.’ (NIV)

If you are really serious about letting your light shine, do you know that you have to be plugged in? I am talking about being plugged into the greatest power source in the entire Universe. Our God!

God’s holy word tells us that David was plugged into God. David tells us in his Psalms many times that the LORD was the source of his joy and strength. There are many examples of this in the Old Testament.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

David faced many battles throughout his life. But, with the LORD’S help, he overcame all of his enemies. You can too! Put your trust in the Lord, just like David did.

Trusting in the LORD

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” Eph3:20(KJV)

We often read and even recite this scripture, but I wonder how many have stopped to really look into what it means. The ability of God far exceeds that which we can express or even that which can enter into our thoughts. The English language in all its vastness is limited in expressing the ability of God. Paul in an attempt to explain says “exceeding abundantly”.

Exceeding- To go beyond the bounds or limits of, to exceed one's understanding, to surpass; be superior to.

Abundantly - more than adequate; over sufficient.

It goes beyond the limit of our understanding how over sufficient God is.

That which God’s ability allows Him the human mind cannot Fathom. Because we are so limited in our ability to explain this fact we can only sum it up by saying, God can do all things. We can repeatedly recite this phrase but unless it enters into our spirit we will never fully grasp this fact, that God can do all things. The word “All” takes into consideration...

“Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.” Ezekiel22:26(KJV)

“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.” Ezekiel22:30-31(KJV)

A lot of times the destruction that comes on a nation/city could have been avoided if there was intercession on behalf of that nation/city. The land, mentioned in the scripture above, was violated with all type of sin and God sought for a man to intercede but found none. The bible says that yes the sin of the nation was bad, but it was because God found no intercessor why He decided to destroy the land. Had God found an intercessor the land probably would be spared.

Beloved…Our Sovereign Lord set up the entire universe and everything in it. He did it all without consulting our pea brains. God does not really need us. So, why were we created?

In Isaiah 43:7 (NIV), God talks of mankind, “Whom I created for my glory”. God tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV), "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

So we were created to glorify God. We can glorify the Almighty One through what we say, how we act, and what we are thinking. We should acknowledge how glorious He is and put Him above all things.

We glorify God through our desire to know Him. The more we rejoice over Him "so will your God rejoice over you." Isaiah 62:5 (NIV). Be grateful, rejoice and have a desire to know and obey Him.

You were born for a purpose. There was no mistake when you were formed. Another sperm could have joined itself to another egg, but it did not. All the days of your life have been already written. Psalm39vs16. You were intricately made, not one detail of you was a mistake. Everything about you was made exactly how God intended, because you were born for a purpose.

“For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother's womb. I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery]. Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm139:13-16(Amplified Version)

"yes, i know i haven't spoken to you in a long time
i guess i lost hope that you'll ever help me...
but now, all i ask is for you
i know, i realize that...i haven't always believed in you, but i never doubted. i always prayed. trust me. i wouldn't lie about that.
But you never answered.
i was hurt. i thought you could understand being hated, but i guess to many love you for you to know true sadness.
Please help me, i've been hurt one to many
i've tried to fit in, i really did.
no let me in. No one truly cared.
all i felt was anger and mistrust
i couldn't feel anymore, i couldn't show emotion, i was,well, heartless. i tried though.
I'm sorry for that day in kindergarten, when i sat on the swing, waiting for you and you never came, i'm sorry i cried in self-pity. that was selfish to think i own you.
but you, you never helped me, even when i apologized. you never set someone's eyes to see the world as i do, only they see their way.

Yesterday, in a Walmart (or Safeway, something of the sort) in Tucson, AZ, a man with a gun came in and shot a congresswoman because of her political beliefs, as well as a few other people who happened to be in the store. There were quite a few wounded, and six who died. It really is a tragic event, and I as well as the people in church today have been praying for those people, and for all of their families. Just asking that you will pray for them as well; no one deserves to be shot because of their beliefs, or because they happened to be in a certain location at a certain time. </3

You are more than the choices that you make. You are more than the many hearts you’ll break. You are more than your dreams that don’t come true. You are more than whatever people think of you.
You are more than the things that you say. You are more than the places that you stay. You are more than the things that you do. You are more than I could ever think of you.
You are so much more than what you think. Your life right now is only beginning These tests and trials that come to you, are meant to make you someone new. You are more. You are worth it. You are so much greater than you think you are.
So stop right there and see the light. There’s a purpose that you can’t fight. You weren’t put here for nothing. You weren’t put here to waste away. You were fearfully and wonderfully made to live here everyday.
Your smile makes the skies turn blue. So don’t stop, whatever you do. No matter what people say, don’t let it ruin your day.
This isn’t how your story ends. So don’t end it early. If it isn’t how you intend, keep trying anyway.

Fiery food mavens seeking to one-up each other now have to gear up for a whole new test of culinary bravado: the world's hottest chili pepper.

Yes, the Naga Viper, the latest claimant to the world's-hottest-pepper crown, outdistances its predecessor, the Bhut Jolokia, or "ghost chili," by more than 300,000 points on the famous Scoville scale of tongue-scorching chili hotness. Researchers at Warwick University testing the Naga Viper found that it measures 1,359,000 on the Scoville scale, which rates heat by tracking the presence of a chemical compound. In comparison, most varieties of jalapeño peppers measure in the 2,500 to 5,000 range -- milder than the Naga Viper by a factor of 270.

[Related: Most dangerous food ingredients]

You might think the Naga Viper would hail from some part of the world with a strong demand for spicy food, such as India or Mexico. But the new pepper is actually the handiwork of Gerald Fowler, a British chili farmer and pub owner, who crossed three of the hottest peppers known to man -- including the Bhut Jolokia -- to create his Frankenstein-monster chili.

My friends, I have always adored God and looked at him with wonder. But lately I have found myself straying from his path. My life is in turmoil from the hatred i place upon my enemies when they troment me. But i know that i should forgive these people of the things they have done. For i know God is with me in life, and with him i have power. He has saved my life in many occasions. He has saved my brothers and family members. I know all of you have faith in your creator, and some of you have strayed from the path. But I know that my lord is a forgiving one, but i know that we must ask for forgivness to recieve it. I hoped that this does not sound like gibberish because this is some of my feelings on God and my life.

If you have read this, thank you for taking the time.
