Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:

"I wanted to see a young female actively and consciously break from the restraints of \'normalcy\' to find her creativity and free spirit."
Gin Wigmore may not be the best babysitter, but she's a pretty awesome role model.
In the New Zealand singer's new "Dirty Mercy" video, she inspires a young girl to rock, dressing up like Wigmore and partying like a badass in the garage. Wigmore's supposed to be babysitting her, and instead is reading Saul Alinsky's
"I always had this strong desire to sing against a backdrop of wall to wall heavy guitars and thrashing drums," Wigmore tells
about the track released last week. "One of those bucket list style rock 'n' roll tracks for me to write and sing. I'm really stoked I finally found that footing within this type of song. It was fun and challenging to take my voice into that very different spectrum from where I first started."
Wigmore also explained the David de Lautour-directed video, saying the intent was to show a strong female breaking out of typical conservative ideals and misogynistic views of women.
"For this video I had set the intention and goal to be able to have a strong young female lead who basically breaks the mould of her conservative cage," she said. "I wanted to see a young female actively and consciously break from the restraints of 'normalcy' to find her creativity and free spirit to find ultimate liberation for who she is and wants to be. In this world right now I feel we have a real lack of strong minded and smart females leading with their own bravery and courage about who they are. Instead we have this over-sexualized and dumbed down state of mind for women as our role models. I think that is bullshit and I do not agree or condone it. I wanted to do my part in putting females back in positions of power and exercising their right do as they wish by using their imagination, free will and intelligence."
"Dirty Mercy" is off Wigmore's fourth studio album, planned for release in the spring. She has announced a string of North American dates on her Let It Ride tour kicking off next week in Mexico City and wrapping Dec. 9 in Albany, New York. See the full list of dates below.
