I didn't feel so sad that Ned died but the scene was dramatic and epic!

The red wedding on the other hand is probably the worst thing that could happen for me, I loved all these characters so much!

I know how you must feel... it's like the Starks are the only ones who die and the Lannisters never dies...

But I'm definitely still gonna keep watching The show is still epic and I refuse to miss if some revenge will come soon at last!

At least Ned was imprisoned first so I knew he was in danger... but the RW came out of nowhere.

When Robb and Catelyn died I knew the story wouldn't turn out as I expected, and that made me want to read more. Would the Lannisters ever be stopped, and who would be the ones to do so? Events in the last half of Storm of Swords made me happy again... and the weakening of the Lannisters, the great appeal to Daenerys + some other events in Feast For Crows and Dance With Dragons created some new expectations in my mind that are still there... Now I have some new dreams and expectations when it comes to the outcome of the series. George RR Martin can change those expectations again... but he won't crush the readers' hope entirely. He is a writer and knows that he has to feed the readers with some positive things too, and trust me; they will come.

I don't understand people who will stop watching the show because of the RW. When I read the books I didn't feel like I wanted to stop reading. Bad players die, and the Starks were bad players... Robb listened to his heart - not his brain - and Catelyn started the war in the first place...both of them were irrational. The only decent player is Sansa. Arya is just lucky nobody's bothered to kill her yet. I also couldn't see where Robb's plan was going...He would never hold Casterly Rock for long, and what would he do if he won the war? Sit on his throne the entire day? Kill some white walkers if they climbed the wall somehow? If Robb killed the Lannisters he would take the Iron Throne for himself (most likely), and then he would have to struggle to keep it. He would probably get killed by the Tyrells or some other strong house. Perhaps Melisandre's shadow baby? Or would the Greyjoys kill him and give the throne to Daenerys? It would be sad no matter what because they all want the same throne. Fights, betrayals and backstabbing will keep on happening as long as there's no final winner of the game of thrones. People have to die because there is no middle ground and Lannisters will die too unless they manage to kill the Ironborn, the Baratheons, the Targaryens and the Dornishmen which seems like a very big task for the Lannisters and Tyrells alone. Even if they win some of the houses over it will still be a very big task.

Agree with aholic.
Ned's execution was sad, but I don't think anything can beat the red wedding.

daenerys picked Ned's Execution:
Book RW was horrific, traumatic and utterly heart breaking. I understood & sympathised with how Robb found himself in that position and felt like he had some notion of the gravity of his betrayal. Show RW not so much. It just felt like he brought it upon himself. He showed no genuine remorse and was flaunting his betrayal in their faces. I can't sympathise with that level of idiocy & self-involvement.
A s simple as Ned was, I do sort of feel bad for him because he was just trying to do what he thought was the honourable thing. His only crime was supreme naivety. His death was sadder because of those he left behind.
