Game of Thrones shooting info for Cáceres revealed; a Season 7 scene is leaked! 

location this year, with cameras rolling across the country these past couple months, and today there are new details about the filming in Cáceres city this month.  

 reports that the City Council has received the shooting plan for

 confirming the dates of Wednesday December 14th and Thursday the 15th for filming in Cáceres’ Monumental City. The plan also reveals several specific sites.

In addition to the location info, an exciting video has surfaced on YouTube, giving us a sneak peek at a fiery moment from season 7! But we’ll place that at the bottom of the post with fair warning so you spoiler-averse folks can skip that.

As for the new locations: Adarve, Arco de la Estrella, Plaza de Santa María, Plaza de los Golfines, San Jorge, cuesta de la Compañía, San Mateo, and las Veletas are reportedly the places within the Monumental City that look to be involved in filming for season 7. All the locations will be closed for the dates listed, except to residents and the workers who require access to the area.

We’ve speculated before that Cáceres City might take over as King’s Landing and other urban interiors of the

world, this season. Let’s take a closer look at the locations to get a feel for what role they might play.

Near the Arco de la Estrella (Arc of the Star) is the Adarve, an old narrow lane:

San Jorge (the patron saint of Caceres) – it’s not clear if GoT is filming in the church or outside it, in the plaza/around the stairs:

San Mateo is another church with a plaza outside:

If that seems like far too many locations for two days, bear in mind that several of them are very close together and may be part of one scene. It’s also possible that the City Council has chosen to close off certain areas at GoT’s request and not all of them may not end up being used in shooting.

Having seen the sites now, they certainly give off a King’s Landing vibe, consistent with the previous shooting cities of Dubrovnik, Croatia and Girona, Spain.

A new video, reportedly from the shooting in Malpartida, Spain sometime in the last couple weeks, shows the crew and a performer working on a dragon scene at night! Not that we can see a dragon, but where there’s huge blasts of flame…

The flames shoot out, and a man in a cloak catches on fire. You can a voice shout, “Khaleesi!” among other unclear words. He rolls around the ground to put out the fire, so this may not be the end of the character. It’s not clear if the attack is deliberate or if the man simply gets in the way of a dragon in the heat of battle.

Nothing like a bit of dragonfire to get you stoked for the new season, am I right? Who do you think is under that cloak- everyone’s favorite Khaleesi-screamer Jorah, some other character, or no one of note at all?

If that is the case, then it cannot be Dany/ Drogon who is attacking right? If the man catching fire is calling out Khaleesi, that can only mean that he is Dothraki, why would Drogon torch a Dothraki?

Maybe it is the Lannisters attacking with fire somehow?

If the Lannisters were attacking, there should be someone to set the fire.. Lannisters can’t throw fire from the sky, even when Bronn burned Stannis ships, he throw an arrow. Wildfire is made with CGI and it’s green…so i can’t see how Lannisters can burn someone like this.

… I don’t think it’s a dragon fire blast. I think it’s a blast of fire from Daenerys’ mouth! She’s not only going to be fireproof but realize she can also breath fire herself!! 🙂

Yep, between him saying it’s witchcraft AND the fact that he’s still talking after the blast, it seems more like an explosion than dragon fire, just from what we’ve seen the more mature dragons do to people when they hit them with a blast of fire.

I am totally using my imagination and fantasy and ignoring “things” most WotW readers usually do not ignore, but I have to try and say it: might this be unhealed Jorah, getting caught by mistake in dragonfire while on his way to somewhere, and…healing?

It would fit with what you think the character is saying.

It would not fit with other things, but since I am one of the rare critical voices about those other things, who knows!

I feel like it wouldn’t be anyone from Westeros (like Lannisters) because they would call her a Queen not a Khaleesi. The only people who would call her Khaleesi would be the people who knew her back with Khal Drogo.

I would say it’s not a Dothraki because he is dressed in a Westerosi style and has a Westerosi accent.

The flame is 100% a dragon. It’s same source of light and fire we’ve seen conjuring in the dragon’s throats a few times before. The voice is Westrosi and says Khaleesi. It doesn’t sound like Jorah, though. ARG!

l don’t think is a dothraki .A dothraki would not speak the common tongue , especially while burning alive. Are we sure that the burning man is the one who shouts? Maybe a red priest ,Mel or someone else (Dany has their attention) burns somebody because lord of light blah blah blah to show Dany the power of the true god and Dany and her companions are shocked! “What kind of evil magic is this…”

Dragons are magical in a way but we do know how Dany feels about blood magic.

Well I was assuming some sort of a flame thrower and that the attack scene would be filmed separately. They do have the mad scientist Qyburn on their side lol.

It was just a guess and it could very well be Drogon. Who knows whom he is torching, because yeah that is a Westerosi accent whoever it is calling out “khaleesi”.

The line is said after the explosion and the man is set on fire. Usually people on fire aren’t asking questions but rather screaming or trying to extinguish the fire. My guess is that the person saying the line and the person being burnt are not one in the same. The line is probably a marker for what is being said next on screen when the line speaker sees the person set on fire.

Jaime using wildfire would make no sense with his character for real. The show didn’t skip this story at all. Jaime hates wildfire.

Jaime,Bronn and the Tarly father and son take part in the ambush scene. Grey Worm is also there with no soldiers, Dothraki and Dany will assist from air. Telling me that Jaime will burn people in the series is so fucked up.

What if Jorah cures his Greyscale by dragon fire? Sam could find this out when searching for the cure…

I never told you Jaime was burning anyone lol. Just that I think there’s a Lannister trap (most likely made by Qyburn). Other characters can activate the trap and you yourself listed them.

Doubt it will be wildfire. That is more of Cersei thing to use. Also, could it be part of this.

As leaks says anti dragon spear weapon Bronn uses to hit Drogon, Dany fall from him and Jaime charges at her. Dany only defending herself with some weapon and then Drogon prepared to fry Jaime, only for Bronn to push him out of line to water and save him. It could be that Dany’s force are in trouble and that person who says “Khalessi, withdraw and wait for the assistaince” could be after this part of the battle.

Jorah is safe. He’ll make it to Dragonstone to Dany and then travel elsewhere.

After listening to it a thousand times, I’m starting to think they don’t even say Khaleesi and someone next to the person who got burned shouts about witchcraft.

Context: A burning man does not ask questions, as you said, so it is somebody watching this scene and puzzled by what has started the fire rather than the execution.

Now, it could also be that the scream will appear on TV in subtitles , that is indeed one of her Dothraki screamers being surprised at this attack or what has prompted a dragon to attack this particular individual.

Maybe this is Dany falling off Drogon because of Qyburn´s anti dragon stuff ( hence the Dothraki asking what sort of witchcraft that is), and Drogon going batshit crazy torching people.

Either that, or the Children of the Forest upped their game and is now selling their handgrenades to the Lannisters…

You’re mixing up leaks. That one was from a 4chan troll. We can now say Khaleesi and her army are not going to have an easy time with the ambush.

The Adarve and the Cuesta de la Compañía are both reminiscent of the Dubrovnik and Girona sites used for KL – and the latter in particular looks a lot like the part of Dubrovnik used for Sansa and Dontos’s flit after the Purple Wedding.

The San Jorge reminds me a lot of the Sept of Baelor, but that is no longer a KL site, so we can rule out it representing that (unless it is being used in a flashback); Oldtown would have a decent sized sept, though – perhaps with steps up to it the way that the Sept of Baelor did. That said, the church part could be CGI’d out.

There are numerous plazas, all of which made me think of Mace’s season five scene in Braavos (though I can’t see them going back there), and the exterior of the deleted KL scene in season six with Olenna. I think this is also meant to represent KL, but I do also think Oldtown could be a possibility.

After listening to the video a few times, it does sound like he say”No Khaleesi, what foul or fair witchcraft is this?” And the commentator, who is speaking Spanish and I wish I knew how to speak, says James Faulkner’s name and Randyll Tarly’s name several times! Could it be Randyll Tarly? Would he call Danearys, Khaleesi?

I’m wondering why this particular stunt is being filmed at night when all of the images we have from the ambush shoot are during the day. None of our full-episode (or even half-episode) battles began during one part of the day and ended during another. If this is actually part of the ambush, I’m having a very hard time placing it during the action portion. We already know what the establishing shots leading up to the attack will be (daytime) and we have Dothraki and Unsullied extras filming during the day as well. What’s this supposed to be?

We also have the Emilia IG from that windy day filming in the field in Belfast, which is extremely difficult to place as well if that’s not her on-the-ground portion of the ambush. She’s definitely not on Dragonstone, beyond the Wall, or in KL during that scene. Roasting the Tarlys at night might look more sinister, if that’s what they’re going for, but this footage doesn’t exactly scream post-battle roundup to me.

That’s not to mention the fact that someone is filming this right on set and nobody seems to notice or give a shit.

I suppose whover provided that on set footage was only employed (perhaps as an unpaid intern) for this once, and he/she isn’t looking for any more work with HBO or, indeed, any production company.

I hope he/she doesn’t have to pay US style damages for breach of contract – this happened in Spain so there’s some hope.

Well, It could be that scene when Jon with friends want to catch a walking dead, but it is after Dany’s intervention. Form leaks we know that Jorah will be there so maybe White Walkers will have some cool fireballs

The video in the article is from a Spanish set. So it’s definitely not anything WW-related.

Of course, we are discussing shares of grey, after all. A society based on violence and social division of classes. They are all immersed in this terrible world.

Yet, there are limits, even in this world.

Take the relationship of two of the most evil: Qyburn and Cersei. They are soft spoken and they rationalize their crimes; one does in the name of science; the other does it in the name of her family.

Then you have a Ramsay Snow: he is 100% cartoon villain. He does not care about appearences, he does not make excuses: he tortures, he kills, he breaks people because that is his way of doing things.

Believe it or not, between one pole of the villainy and the other, you will find people like Jaime: their conscience knows they are serving causes that are in nature evil minded ( control over the North through terror and treachery; subjugation of an entire city through a bloody power grab) but they go through the notions anyway, simply because they are not mentally strong enough to stand up on their own.

Now, you mention Jon and Dany what makes them IMO in the “pale spectre of grey” so to speak? The main thing here is they have goals that, while also benefit them, are mostly trageting at benefiting others. Jon subverts the Night´s watch mission statement ( at least in the minds of part of his swore brothers) to save the Free Folk. Dany has eyes on the Iron Throne, but instead of sailing to Westeros, starts a much troubled anti-slavery war.

That Dany sees fit to retaliate with incredible violence is a questionable method, but a method within the rules of the game their oponents are playing.

I’ve listened to it about 50 times and it still sounds nothing like Iain to me. If not simply for the word “Khaleesi” I don’t think anyone would have brought up Jorah.

Which reminds me, according to a WotW article a few weeks ago weren’t they supposed to have started filming like 2 weeks ago and continue for 3 weeks? I think you’re absolutely right – I listened to your file, and to the original video again, and am quite sure now that the first part is “Don’t hurt me”.

Doesn’t sound like Jorah to me either. Nor did the accent sound particularly Westerosi, but honestly, I thought it sounded pretty American. But as has been noted, it’s not likely to actually be whomever is playing whichever character it’s meant to be. They wouldn’t have Iain Glenn (or any other non-stuntperson) in the vicinity of a firestunt, so whomever it is saying whatever would probably be doing it for real in ADR later. FWIW, I also heard, “Khaleesi, what foul witchcraft is this?” which, if it’s the actual scripted line and not just something to say, does suggest the speaker would be Dothraki, to whom wildfire might very well seem like witchcraft, which they seemed to categorically dislike back when Mirri Maz Duur was offering her services.

Weird. Most hear the man say Khalessi. I don’t hear that at all. Sounds exactly like Cersei to me but my hearing is no doubt suspect. “wait for assistance” is very clear though.

If I was to put money on it, I’d be happy to say that he is not saying Khaleesi.

“GO Khaleesi, withdraw for assistance!” is what I hear and makes way more sense than the “what sort of witchcraft is this?!” line people seem to hear in the scene.

A person engulfed in fire (which basically exploded around him) would not be able to utter any words. Whoever says those words is not the person on fire, so ‘don’t hurt me’ makes no sense.

Yelling ‘don’t hurt me’ while already on fire makes no sense either. Not to mention, the guy says other things too. A person during such trauma would not be able to form coherent thoughts and then verbalize them.

Please don’t be stupid. HBO would never risk a big star like Iain Glen in a fiery stunt like this. I’ve listened to the clip a couple of times and it sounds nothing like Iain Glen’s gravelly dulcet tones.

If “Khalessi” is indeed said then it is either Jorah, or one of the.Dothraki. None of her other council or unsullied call her that. If it’s not said, then it could.be bloody anyone Dany’s side or Cersei’s side and we won’t know who until the episode airs.

I’ve read most the comments and I’m still stumped as to who is on fire, who is shouting, and what the hell is going on, lol. But I agree with the person who said that the person on fire would be in far too much pain to do anything more than scream in incoherent agony, so that’s not the person who’s telling the “Khaleesi” something.

Jorah is the only person who calls Dany Khaleesi and speaks the common tongue but because

of the leaks we know he’s in Old Town being cured of his greyscale and is not at the ambush, so it can not be him who’s shouting.

Otherwise, I’m not entirely convinced that this night scene is part of the ambush which takes place in daylight. Is it possible they filmed this fiery scene in Spain for another action scene? Say the

Wight hunt beyond the Wall? Maybe it is Jorah shouting “Khaleesi, what witchcraft is this/withdraw for assistance” as he watches the Night King take down Viserion. Maybe those people on fire are actually wights being roasted by Drogon. *shrugs*

Could it be that this scene is not part of the ambush, but some other sequence?

A person engulfed in fire (which basically exploded around him) would not be able to utter any words. Whoever says those words is not the person on fire, so ‘don’t hurt me’ makes no sense.

My guess is either the person yelling is NOT the one on fire, but the one afraid of being set on fire next (which I think is the case here); or alternatively he IS the person “on fire”, realizing that this is NOT a real burning fire but some kind of deceptive witchcraft ;-).

The voice could be that of Tom Hopper – who will play Dickon Tarly. I remember him from Black Sails, another of my favorite shows.

The battle with the Dothraki and the Lannisters/Tarly’s happened during the day, and the captive Randyll and Dickon might be killed at night.

Daenerys commands Dickon and Randyll to surrender, but they refuse. Daenerys orders Drogon to burn Randyll – that’s the scene we see right now.

Dickon yells ‘No Khaleesi, what witchcraft is this’ in agony.

Why would Dickon call her Khaleesi? Well…. he refuses to accept her as a queen – Cersei is his queen. She is a Khaleesi that commands a huge horde of Dothraki, and that’s his first encounter with her.

After this she command Dickon to surrender, but he refuses too. She has him burnt as well. This causes Tyrion and Varys to worry about her ‘fire within’.

Why are we assuming it is man under that cloak? Could be Brienne for all we know.

Oh FFS! I only heard it because lots of people here were hearing it, and after a second listen I thought, yeah, maybe, it did sound like that.

My point is that whatever the stuntmen say is irrelevant. Their audio won’t be on the finished show. It’s all banter. “Put him out” doesn’t mean some character is going to kill some other character, it’s a stuntman calling others to extinguish the flames on his mate, another stuntman.

I’m as excited as the next person about GoT and S7, but a bit of common sense wouldn’t go amiss around here. Sorry to come across as patronising or whatevs.

Actually, Jorah’s presence at the ambush battle wouldn’t be impossible.

As far as we know Jorah will start the season in the Old Town and the ambush battle will be happening near Highgarden: so, not so far away. Moreover, Dany’s appearance in the Highgarden area will be expected: she will have to retaliate after Jaime attacks her ally Olenna Tyrell. Hence, Jorah can leave the Old Town somewhere in Ep 3 and meet his Khaleesi on the road right before the ambush battle. Besides that, I think that Sam will find some key information at the Citadel (most probably, some book revealing how to kill and/or control a dragon) and share it with Jorah who will then rush to warn Dany. IMO, the whole plot of making Jorah to catch the greyscale and then sending him to the Old Town to get a cure has been about establishing communication channel between Sam and Dany (or at least that was one of the purposes of this plot).

Brienne will be at the Dragonpit, so she is safe until the finale.

Could be a false spoiler as well that Jorah is in Oldtown…Maybe Jorah could be also on Dragonstone with Melissandre…Maybe he got the Information from another red priestess that she can cure him…

Jorah is safe as he makes it to Dragonstone and then went the North with Jon, Davos and Gendry.

They wouldn’t be shooting scenes for a wight hunt in Spain.

I don’t assume that the man on fire is supposed to be Jorah. 2) We don’t know when and how exactly Jorah will come to Dragonstone. The leaked scene with someone like Jorah coming to Dragonstone on a boat was rather hard to interpret: although the man on the boat looked like Jorah, it wasn’t Ian Glen, and he was wearing the unsullied costume, etc. And even if it was supposed to be Jorah, that may be not his first meeting with Dany during the season: they may reunite before the ambush battle, get parted during it (because it seems that Dany will be running into trouble), and then reunite again on Dragonstone on Ep 5. Or Jorah will come to Dragonstone in Ep 3 (he might even bring a message on what’s happening in the Reach), follow Dany to the ambush battle, and come back to Dragonstone together with her. A lot of travelling for him, but not more than for other characters. Just saying.

Whoever yells this is not an actual actor. 2. The owner of the video said the stuntman was too short to be Dickon. 3. No Westerosi person would ever call Daenerys Khaleesi. Only Dothraki and Jorah call her that. She is not a Khaleesi to anyone but them. Khaleesi is a wife to a Khal, why would anyone from Westeros call her by that title? Especially her enemies? That’s completely illogical

Mr. Derp: Can’t be 100% sure, but I would assume that a stuntman would be doing this and not one of the actual actors. Therefore, I wouldn’t expect to recognize the voice at all.

Or some voice on the set and not a member of the cast, as a place holder and will be ADR later.

The more I watch this scene, the more it looks like it’s Dany burning one of her unbowed-unbend-unbroken enemies. Just look how the stuntman stands. And if you imagine how the action would look from a different angle (and maybe with a bit of slow motion), that would be exactly how the dragon fire would work: a spire of flame coming from one point and burning the man. And the yelling is either irrelevant, or has a different meaning: maybe their will be reinforcements coming to Tarly’s aid and threatening Dany, and her own men (the Dothraki) will be urging her to retreat, but she will be taking several seconds to do away with those who dare to challenge her or something.

Ambush is episode 4 with Shakman directing it. Jorah gets to the Citadel earlier in the season, he gets cured by Sam and Archmaester or whoever it might be and then off to Dragonstone. He meets Dany in ep 4 or 5 at Dragonstone and is fine. Don’t think he has anything to do with this ambush sequence.

It sounds to me like they say, “Dothraki! What sort of witchcraft is this?”

The only thing for certain that I got from the clip, despite all the speculations above, is that there is dragon fire and someone in a cloak is trying to escape from it/gets burnt by it. And it happens at night. The words themselves are meaningless, as whatever is said, either by the person burning or someone watching, will be altered in ADR. It can be the Common Tongue, or Dothraki, or Valyrian. I think it would be cool if Daenerys’ troops talked to her in Dothraki or Valyrian.

The more I listen the more confuse I get. Is this even a real scene? The stuntman could be for jorah? The person being burnt isn’t the one talking? I’m questioning if they really said Khaleesi.

I also don’t see much need for Jorah at the ambush battle, I am just saying that it wouldn’t be impossible for him to be there. Hardly the howrunners intend to show us a detailed gray-scale curing process, so he will need like 3-4 scenes with Sam and then he can go.
