As a classically trained pianist, I can’t help but absolutely love “Light of the Seven”.

The entire theme enhances the episode so well and it’s still one of my favorites to replay now that I own the soundtrack.

I feel a bit badly every time I think it, too. I mean, he’s an artist who is so incredibly brilliant, imo, gracious, wonderfully articulate, etc… yet every time I see him, my first thought is, “wow, he’s beyond easy on the eyes.”

The way that Ramin speaks about his process was intelligent and thoughtful, and the enthusiasm he has for both

and his creative partners shone brightly throughout the conversation. He’s clearly built up a great rapport with David and Dan during the years they’ve been working together on the show.

One of the coolest pieces of information that I hadn’t known before listening to this podcast was about the spotting sessions. Before starting work on each new season, Ramin and his collaborators sit down and watch every single episode of the show again, identifying the various musical pieces and cues that they want to reprise or rework for the current season. I would honestly pay a not-inconsiderable sum of money to sit in on one of those sessions. I have no musical talent of my own and know nothing about the process of creating a score, but I think it would be a fascinating educational experience. I suppose that the most that we could probably realistically hope for along those lines would be a DVD commentary from Ramin at some point.

My musical “talent” is limited to just about picking out simple tunes like “Three Blind Mice” on the descant recorder so when I listen to this type of gifted musician and composer I am lost in wonderment.

To be a fly on that wall, right? David & Dan, at ComicCon, talked for 20 or 30 seconds about storyboarding the season and then said something like, “But that’s boring and no one wants to hear about that.” I was all, “I do! I do! I do!” That’s the fly I’d want to be, in the writing room.
