Sophie Turner: “So many characters’ paths intertwine this season”

I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Sophie Turner on Season 6: "Characters' paths intertwine"
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
cast were present. HBO must have given the cast some kind of go-ahead, because everyone seems to be turning up the hype lately.
Just recently, Sophie Turner has been at the center of that hype, saying that Season 6 is a “big one for Sansa,” and that the character “commands the respect that she deserves.” She teased the season more generally when questioned by
Every scene I shot I couldn’t believe that I was shooting this scene with these amazing people, and I couldn’t believe that the storylines had intertwined so much that this is how it ends up. So many character’s paths intertwine this season…You really get a sense that the story is coming together and rounding up this time.
Before Season 5 aired, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss teased it as “a big East-meets-West season,” meaning that it would see characters long separated by geography being yoked together. In that same interview, they said that “this is a show with a beginning, a middle and an end. We know what the end is, and we’re heading toward it now.”
That was before Season 5, so we’re even closer to the end now, and it’s only natural to expect characters to keep coming together and set up for the endgame of the show. Sansa herself already shared screen-time with several new characters last year, from Roose Bolton to Ramsay Bolton to Theon.* If spoilers are any indication, she’ll be mixing it up with even more new people in Season 6. And I’m willing to bet there’s more intermingling we haven’t caught wind of.
And now, a roll call of choice quotes about the coming season, as teasing season goes into overdrive:
Emilia Clarke: “It’s just go, go, go, go. Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It’s mental; it’s epic.”
Liam Cunningham: “[T]his is going to be a tough season to watch.”
Sophie Turner: “So many character’s paths intertwine this season.”
So Season 6 will feature characters coming together and doing epic things that are hard to watch. Sounds terrifying. Bring it on.
*True, Sansa and Theon grew up in Winterfell together, but Sophie Turner and Alfie Allen never shared a scene together before Season 5.
Aidan Gillen, who portrays Petyr Baelish “Littlefinger” on HBO’s Game of Thrones...
Maisie Williams avoided most interviews on the SAG Red Carpet this weekend, but the same...
Have you already read all the books and/or don\'t care about spoilers? You can reveal all the spoilers in the comments with the click of a link below.
Sounds like Sansa isn’t taking anymore shit this season. Its been a steady climb for her character and I’ve enjoyed her since season 4.
Maybe she will kill Wun Wun, after he turns into a wight and attacks Winterfell.
Common interpretation is that the ‘giant’ in her giant-slaying prophecy is Littlefinger (or Sweetrobin’s doll), but maybe this prophecy will turn out to be one of the literal ones. It would fit with a few rumours, and would be a bad-ass way for her to finish Season 6.
The way they speak, it almost sounds like ‘Dany will fly atop Drogon and help the Starks win the war’ (that dream many show-watchers had during seasons 3 and 4)..
I don’t know if they explain this in the books (I have not read them), but I am assuming Dragon glass is somehow a by-product of Dragons or somehow Dragon’s heating up certain natural elements. I also figured to defeat the White Walkers somebody better crank up the production of Dragon glass (as Jon lost the only bag of it). Even if the Dragons can’t fly all the way North, Dany may be asked to assist the efforts by having her Dragons crank up or heat up the production of glass. (as noted, if that is possible?).
In the books its mentioned it (dragon glass / obsidian) can be mined on Dragonstone and I believe Stannis is having men do that. I don’t see Dany or her dragons doing this in the books or show although it may be possible
Sansa(and Theon) probably will meet Brienne and Pod. They take them to Last Heart where she meet with Rickon and Osha. After Jon arrives with his gang…wow nice
Any idea when we might get a proper full trailer? Every other season trailers have been aired around this time, so it should be fairly soon?
Even there’s a season 8, this will be the THIRD LAST season. Main characters need to intertwine this season for the story to advance, characters development can only go so far if they don’t.
It starts last year with Tyrion finally meeting Daenerys. This year you can expect reunion of Sansa and Jon, Sansa meeting Blackfish Tully, Jon with Little Finger. We may even see Jon meeting Tyrion again in Ep10.
How would Sansa meet the Blackfish? Do you think he escapes the siege and goes north?
Yeah … that would be really cool if the Blackfish appears during the Battle of Bastards with Arya an Nymeria’s pack of wolves.
You’re lost in hype Albert. Come back. The Northeners and the Riverlands winners will meet maybe in season 7, but not before.
Sansa likely to start rounding up the Stark supporters this year, why not begin with someone you trust the most like Blackfish? How do you know Blackfish did not hide with some Northern lords like Lyanna Mormont, a loyal supporter; Bear Island knows no king but the King in the North, whose name is Stark.
Most fans assume Blackfish is at Riverrun all along after the Red Wedding, I am not so sure. I got a feeling he’s looking for the Stark girls as well, just like Brienne and Podrick.
Because we know already that Blackfish and Jaime will have a common scene. And Jaime is gong to the Riverlands. Those Stark supporters will be the Umbers first.
That’s in Ep 7 or 8, after Jaime returns to King’s Landing and battles with the Faith with his troops in Ep 5 or 6. Sansa scenes with Stark supporters will likely come before that, probably in Ep 3 or 4, enough time for Blackfish to go back to Riverrun and rally House Tully in Ep 7 or 8.
I have a hard time to believe Blackfish will not run to a Stark once he learned he or she is still alive; remember, they are blood related.
I know lots of people dislike her but Sansa has slowly become my favourite character and I’d be happy if she outlived everybody.
I really want an Arya/Jon reunion too and they can’t kill Rickon this season, especially not after what happens to Shireen last year. Surely?
I wonder if Yara and Theon will go to look for Danny and try to make an alliance.
Just remembered. For everyone having doubts about Sophie Turners statement about Sansa having a great season, there was an interview with Liam Cunningham last September in which he said that Sansa would have an “incredible arc”. Granted, that’s not saying whether it’s incredibly good or incredibly horrible, but I choose to interpret his excitement as something positive :)
Looking for Sansa to get together with Rickon. I don’t look for him to die. The trailer probably won’t be this weekend due to the Super Bowl.
Game of Thrones wins 4 VES Awards! Congrats to everyone😄
I think Sansa has always been one of the most misunderstood characters. Just because she’s the medieval archetype of a lady, a lot of fans think she’s weak and submissive. But her submissiveness is a survival tactic. One does not simply survive Joffrey, Cersei, Littlefinger, Lysa Arryn, Roose Bolton and Ramsay Bolton if she is confrontational and fierce like Arya. Sansa has had to put up with a menagerie of lunatics and the only way to do that is to be quiet and hang in there. But she has always found a way to regroup and recover. I believe she has already sown the seed for the Boltons’ downfall when she put the thought in Ramsay’s head that Roose’s unborn son will be heir to the Dreadfort. Next season either Ramsay will kill Roose or will get thwarted by Roose in a way that damages his own future, and the cause of that will be that little conversation with Sansa. In other words, I don’t think Sansa is a weak character at all, but someone who has a quietly effective way of getting things done.
I can’t stand her character. If any more Starks have to die I hope it’s her. I get that she has survived by being non confrontational. But I just can’t like her submissive docility.
The submissive docility is a facade, a survival strategy. There are plenty of indications that she’s not genuinely submissive or docile. Giving it back to Joffrey when he said “I’ll bring you your brother’s head”. Manipulating to have Dontos Hollard saved. Trying to have Joffrey killed at the Battle of the Blackwater. Saving Littlefinger in the Eyrie. Planting the thought in Ramsay’s head that Roose’s unborn son will be heir to the Dreadfort. This doesn’t look like submissive docility.
I get all that. I really do. I just don’t like the Sansa character. Can’t stand her. Each to their own! 😇
