Once Best Friends, Now Enemies
Chapter One (Revised)
Everything was a blur to her as Natalie sat in the forest and remembered what happened to her before she got sucked into The Universe of the Four Gods. She was going to the library to look up answers for her history questions when she noticed an image of a red phoenix in her head. She followed the phoenix to where it was leading her and she found a young boy holding a book. She picked it up from his hands, and the next thing she knew, Natalie was sucked into this mysterious book and as now staying in this nice and clean forest at night in the dark. Natalie always gated the dark as it scared her to be alone. A voice interrupted her thoughts with a scream and a hug.
“Oh my gosh, Natalie! Is that really you?” the voice asked. Natalie instantly knew who it was by the sound of their voice.
“Miaka! Is that you?” Natalie asked with happiness as she got up and hugged her friend in return. It was great to see someone she knew here!
“What are you doing, Miaka?” Natalie asked and soon Miaka regained her serious tone back. Something told Natalie this was going to be a very long and serious explanation.
“Well, I have to find the last seven warriors of Suzkau in order to get my love Tamahome back and Yui back too.” Miaka explained as two people came up. One had black hair and amber eyes wearing travelers clothing and had a sword at his side. The other one had fuchsia hair and was wearing pink clothing with a belt tied around the waist.
“Miaka, who is this girl?” the one with the black hair asked. Before Miaka could introduce her, Natalie placed a hand on her shoulder and introduced herself. Natalie often didn’t like people introducing her for her.
“Hi, my name’s Natalie. I’m a friend of Miaka’s. Who are you guys?” Natalie said. The one with the black hair introduced himself first.
“I am Sahei, but am known as Hotohori of the Suzaku seven.” he said and then the fuchsia haired one introduced himself.
“And my name is Kourin, but I’m known as Nuriko of the Suzaku seven. It’s a pleasure meeting you, Natalie.” Natalie nodded in return. It was great to meet Miaka and some new friends along the way. But there was one thing that had to be settled. Who was she traveling with?
“Hey what’s wrong, Natalie?” Miaka asked noticing her friend’s sullen face.
“I…just don’t have anyone to travel with.” Natalie answered, but Miaka had just the cure for that.
“You can come with us! Please?” Miaka asked, placing her hands on Natalie’s shoulders. Natalie gulped in unsure ness. What if she was going to drag them down? What if she wasn’t fun enough to be around? But, she had to take her chances.
“Okay…sure. I’ll come. Where are we going, anyway?” Natalie asked.
“We’re heading to the town of Choko to see if we can find a doctor who can revive a Suzaku warrior called Tasuki. He’s the fifth one we’ve found, and now we’re heading to find the sixth. Here, get on the horse with Nuriko. We’ll go a little bit easier.” Miaka answered as she helped Natalie onto the horse and then placed herself on Hotohori’s horse. She put her thoughts on Hotohori and then her love Tamahome.
It’s really amazing. Hotohori shows so much love and care for me. I wonder how Tamahome is. Will he just stay with Yui forever?

In Kuoto, Tamahome was sleeping when he awoke to the sound of Yui’s voice.
“T-Tamahome.” Yui said, looking worried over him as he sat up in the bed.
“Yui.” he said as Yui embraced him a little bit, glad that he was still here and not with Miaka.
“Oh, so you’re still here! Thank goodness! I had a dream that you went back with Miaka and left me here all alone.” she whimpered as Tamahome looked down and noticed Yui only with her school top on. He looked away from her in order not to look any further and assured her the obvious.
“I already told you, Yui. There’s no way I’m leaving you. When the time comes, I’ll take you with me. We just have to wait for Miaka to finish her job.”
“Yes, you’re right.” Yui said looking away with bitterness and hate for the girl. Yui really had no intention to head back to Konan in the first place. A maid came in and called for Yui.
“Lady Yui, Lord Nakago wishes to see you.” the maid said and Yui got up out of the bed.
“Oh, that’s right, I need to go. I’ll have them fix breakfast for you soon.” she said and then left Tamahome to his own thoughts, which were mostly on Miaka.
“Breakfast, huh? I’ll bet Miaka’s smashing all the food in her mouth right now.” An image of Miaka was shown as she gobbled down loads and loads of food. That was Miaka alright. She was always a glutton.
“And I’m wondering when I’ll get the chance to see your silly smiling face before me.” Tamahome muttered to himself.
In another area of the palace, Yui sat on a chair with her legs crossed, and Nakago was standing right beside her as she heard the news.
“So you’re saying that the Suzaku warrior Tasuki is dead?” Yui asked the cloak men who bowed before her.
“Yes. The Priestess of Suzaku is now heading with a new friend to the city of Choko to see if there’s a magical musician who can revive the warrior.”
“So it seems that gathering her warriors is not that easy of a task.” Nakago said.
“Then let them work.” Yui said smugly. “Alright, maintain surveillance.”
“As you wish!” the men said and disappeared to keep an eyes on the others.
