Over the past few weeks, you have all been voting in the Frozen Favourite Character Countdown of 2015. As per usual when it comes to Fanpop countdowns, the process was done by elimination. The first poll consisted of all named/titled characters in the movie, fans voted for their least favourite, the next poll would feature all remaining characters, and so on.

While I can say that some of the outcomes did not surprise me at all, there were others that did shock me! I honestly didn't know what way things could've gone at times, and I've found some of the results (along with your comments in the polls) pretty interesting. So here goes...

17th - The Duke of Weselton

The snooty yet wacky Duke of Weaseltown - wait, did I pronounce that right? His style of humour is something that can be loved or loathed or anything in between. Sadly for the Duke, he received more loathe than love this time, and was the first to be eliminated in this year's countdown (that said, he still isn't disliked by everybody, showing that even the first to go is able to receive some love from the community).

His Excellency...
His Excellency...

16th - Bulda

The trolls, as a group, are not too well liked. Included in the countdown were the three named trolls, and of them, Bulda went first. She is the one who took a liking to Kristoff and Sven when they were kids, and immediately adopted them. As you do. But even though Bulda may be a loving character, she doesn't receive quite as much love from the Frozen community, and was eliminated in round two.

"I'm gonna keep 16th place."
"I'm gonna keep 16th place."

15th - Cliff

Another troll is eliminated! Cliff managed to make it a little further in the contest than his wife, but not by much. Like Bulda, he is more loving than loved! It should be noted, however, that Cliff doesn't seem to get much hatred directed at him specifically. He is just not very well liked either.

Head over heels about 15th place!
Head over heels about 15th place!

14th - Marshmallow

Nope, not a troll this time! The gigantic, fierce snow monster who once served as Elsa's bodyguard was the next to go. Despite some fans disliking him for certain reasons, Marshmallow did manage to make it to round four.

Crowned king of 14th place!
Crowned king of 14th place!

13th - Kai

The royal family's butler, Kai is a minor character in the story and as such he's not expected to be especially popular. However, as he's not particularly disliked either, he managed to beat four other characters in this countdown! Goodbye, Kai, and careful with the way you pronounce "Weaseltown". Oops.

"Fanpop will henceforth and forever no longer place me below 13th place."
"Fanpop will henceforth and forever no longer place me below 13th place."

12th - Grand Pabbie

The most tolerated of the trolls, Grand Pabbie made it to the sixth round of voting, lasting longer than both his daughter and his son-in-law. Pabbie himself has quite a different personality to the other trolls; where Bulda, Cliff, and many of the unnamed ones are energetic and almost forceful (when they want Anna and Kristoff to get together), Pabbie is much calmer and gentler. Maybe this has helped make him more likeable?

"Only an act of not complete hatred from fans can thaw a frozen heart."
"Only an act of not complete hatred from fans can thaw a frozen heart."

11th - Gerda

The maid to Anna and Elsa's family, Gerda - much like Kai - is another minor character who does not feature much in the movie and therefore is not expected to be a favourite. She got a little further than Kai in the countdown, although not much is said about her in the fandom - good or bad.

Let's celebrate Gerda's 11th place with a victory meal.

10th - Oaken

Yoo-hoo! In tenth place is Oaken, the jolly store owner that Anna and Kristoff meet on their travels. He got on the bad side of some fans due to his unhelpfulness towards the heroes, but as a minor character who only appears in one scene, I don't think we were expecting him to do too well in the countdown. In fact, for such a minor role, I'd say he's done pretty well in reaching the top ten!

"Only one crazy enough to be in 10th place is me, dear."

9th - The King of Arendelle

Anna and Elsa's parents are killed off pretty early in the story, and as such only feature in the first few scenes. They do appear to be somewhat infamous in the fandom for discouranging Elsa to learn more about controlling her magic powers. Even so, these two minor characters were able to make it pretty far into the countdown! First we say goodbye to the King.

If he's disappointed with this placement, he conceals it.

8th - The Queen of Arendelle

Next out is the Queen! As Anna and Elsa's mother and father are very similar characters (from what we see of them) it's not too surprising that she and her husband were eliminated one after the other.

By each other's side in this image and in the results!

7th - Olaf

Shocked, people? I know I am! Olaf ranked second the last time we did a countdown, and while it's clear that he is still a loved character in the Frozen fandom on the whole, he's not especially popular on Fanpop right now. The comic relief snowman takes seventh place this year. Let's give him a warm hug!

Whatever it is 7th place does in summer.

6th - Sitron

For such a minor character, Hans' horse sure stayed in the countdown for a long time! Sitron appears to be your traditional Disney animal character, capable of humanlike expressions, although he only appears briefly in the movie. He certainly doesn't seem to be disliked in the fandom, and in this countdown has outranked all the other minor characters.

You did well, Sitron. Why the long face?

5th - Sven

Kristoff's trusty animal companion takes fifth place in this year's countdown. It seems reindeers really are better than people... well, most people, anyway. Four people still outrank him and remain in the countdown; all popular characters too. This is going to be interesting...

And fifth place takes home this fabulous prize!

4th - Elsa

The snow queen herself takes fourth place! Like Olaf, Elsa ranks lower now than she did last time there was a countdown (being the overall favourite in the past), although this change is not especially surprising considering many of her original fans on Fanpop seem to be inactive now. Even so, it's clear she is still popular here, so if she was initially disappointed with this year's results, I'm sure by now she's... let it go.

"The countdown never bothered me anyway."

3rd - Hans

Ah, the so-called "nice guy" of the story. This countdown has been pretty dramatic for Hans; in many of the polls he received second place, and sometimes the difference between him and whoever did get eliminated was by only one vote. Nevertheless, Hans managed to take third place! This is an improvement since the last Frozen character countdown, in which he was far less popular.

Thirteenth in line for the throne, but third in this countdown.

2nd - Kristoff

The sane one of the team (even he was raised by a bunch of rocks), Kristoff wins second place this year! While I've only seen a handful of people here who have claimed that he is their favourite character in the movie, a lot of people really like him and he doesn't seem to receive much in the way of hate either. So I think it was safe to assume that Kristoff would do well.

"That happened."
"That happened."

1st - Anna

In first place this year is the charmingly clumsy yet ultimately heroic princess! Anna has always been a popular character, although in the previous countdown she was beaten by both Elsa and Olaf. Within Fanpop's Frozen community, Anna receives a lot of love and praise from fans, and rarely has a bad word said about her (especially in recent times) so I think we can agree that her victory is not too surprising, and definitely well deserved.

Anna reacted to the good news in her normal, dignified, graceful way.

And there you have it! Thank you to everyone who voted in this year's countdown, and let us know what you think of the results.
