You know, you just made a very solid contribution, iluvmj54. I took it upon myself to review your answer to the question, and I just have to give you an A+. "cuz they are!! :D YUMMM", is a much better answer to the question than mine, plus your obsessive use of caps lock is a sign of how smart and correct you are.

I heard they put something like a chemical in the potatoes that makes you crave them. I would think that whatever it is makes them so tastey that you can't live without ur fries. :O I love the limp kind that are just a little crispy; not hard and straight. Add plenty of salt. lol And they'd better b HOT. :))

They're not called "french" because of France, they're called like that, because they're frenched. But hey, Belgium ftw! And it is true it may cause confusion. (is it obvious I'm Belgian too? :p)

Oh yeah, btw, you say they're from Flanders? I heard otherwise. I heard they where first made in the area of the Meuse valley, which is in Wallonia. Hate this about Belgium, always acting as if the other half of the country is so effing different. (I'm from Flanders, btw)

Well, in WW 1 or 2 the American had to cross Belgium and while they were there they tasted the local fries. Since the population there mainly spoke French the American called them French Fries. Love your icon btw.
