I'm a guy, but I agree. Woman should be treated better. My little sister wanted to run for class president in her school, but the (male) principle wouldn't allow it, and it was because she was a girl. That's the problem. Girls are treated just like the slaves of the 1800's. Whatever happened to rights and freedom. Men only want women to cook and clean for them. I say no. I say that women should be allowed to become doctors, or lawyers, or even run for president. That is what freedom really is.

Wow, that is very disappointing. Can't believe how some schools don't fix that issue. Glad to hear how supporting you are to your sister and to the equity and equality of women. :)over a year ago
Oh my goodness, someone give this man a medal. I'm really sorry to hear about your sister, by the way. You think schools these days would change policies like that. "And the speech goes like: hey little lady, sex on the beach, wanna try for a baby?" The lyrics i personally feel are simply vulgar. I don't think theres anything diminishing to women in the lyrics. I am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, though.over a year ago
There were women back then who opposed Feminism too, as well as the ERA. Some women are so stupid as to think that Feminism is destroying our gender when it actually helps us. More likely than not, she's probably doing this to get chauvies' approval or she's one of those women who can't seem to use the victory of Feminism to their benefit, like maybe getting a college degree and running a successful business, or getting their own propeerty to call their own (all achieved by Feminism).over a year ago
Anybody willing to start a movement against Selective Services? After hearing these MRAs complaining about how women don't have to sign up for it and blah blah blah, I guess this means that they would like this requirement removed from government, but are afraid to be seen as less than manly to ask for this to end or to ask for help.

If it is a problem, by all means fight against it. Just because MRAs say something shouldn't influence your politics one way or the other. They aren't always right; they aren't always wrong. LOL, too bad that they don't realize that until they are the ones sacrificing their time, health, and peace of mind for a baby that must be carried around for months on end, they'll never have rights over the wiman's unborn baby. And as for having "rights"over a year ago
Yet, they're not the one holding the baby, giving birth to it, nursing it, etc. Here's the deal; carry the baby for nine months, and you'll get all the choice in the world. For now, shut your trap.over a year ago
What's even sadder is the fact that they don't realize that the baby carries the mother's mtDNA (or whatever it's called) as well, and that whatever the mother does directly affects the baby; the father can eat and drink whatever he wants as much as he want, it won't do a thing to the baby, while whatever the mother eats or drinks impacts the fetus hugely. So in all honesty, the mother has more "ownership" of the baby (I really don't like using that term on a live baby) than the father ever will, rendering him powerless to do anything towards the baby.over a year ago

Oh yeah, it's because of the sterotype. Current shows and movies have what we call the "straw feminist" she is depicted as a overly strong pig headed woman that's obnoxious and a man hater. It really gives us all true femininst a bad name, ones that know the true meaning of what a feminist is and is aware that the problem of sexism hasn't gone away yet. Distancing yourself from a movement that is soley responsible for the rights that women have in the modern world is completely counterintuitive. Our feminist foremothers were willing to risk being ostracized, put in prison and targeted with violence. We should honor the word feminist, not just in tribute to them but to support the ongoing struggle we still face before we ever have true equality. I am proud to call myself a feminist, the strawmen arguments don't faze me.over a year ago
