Well, she doesn't exactly kick ass, but Queen Elizabeth 1 was always one of my favorite people in history. She went on her own and did something that was unheard of. She ruled a country in its Golden Age without a husband to help her even if it would mean the end of her family line.

If you don't accept her, then most definitly Mulan.
