Please note that this is merely my perception on this. You can have your opinion, I'll have mine.

We all know the modern Disney stars are completely whacked and are SO not role models. But what about the old school Disney?

The Little Mermaid. Ariel clearly states that she's sixteen in the first film. The second movie claims to be ten years later, the perfect age for Melody, her daughter. Is Disney promoting teenage pregnancy? Promoting underage marriage? And the supposed "love" she felt was only worship lust, hardly the basis for a healthy relationship. What message does this send to young girls, who will become teenagers with unrealistic expectations?

Disney princesses: They're two dimensional, non realistic, poorly developed characters who demean women. This is the twenty first century, and women are being given more rights than ever before, and yet little girls are being raised to believe that men are superior and will save them. I can tell you this is far from the truth. In many cultures today there are still gender inequality issues, where women are given few rights.

Little girls are being told to be perfect and stereotyping is at an all time high. Girls are following the crowd because of being raised to conform to the expectations set of them.

Women as a general rule are cast in a lower light. Their primary purposes are to cook and clean and look pretty. Take that Mary Sue of a character, Snow White.

So why do parents think Disney is such a good thing with "positive" role models?

Hey guys!

What does the word female ass-kickers mean to you? Ass-kickers come in all shapes and sizes. There are the crazy ones like Harley Quinn or the quirky ones like Nymphandora Tonks. Many of us think that female ass-kickers can only be tough fighting machines like Sarah Conner and Ellen Ripley or Carol Peletier when in fact, physical strength is not the only strength. Determination is a strength and intelligence is a strength. Female ass-kickers are strong women and that counts physically as well as emotionally.

Sure enough, I've noticed that the people on this club are open-minded to...

Wasting time on an introduction when there are 10 kick-ass moms in need of appreciation? That's not a very good use of anyone's time!

#9 & #10 - Hilda & Zelda Spellman (Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
Played by Caroline Rhea & Beth Broderick, 1996-2003
When Sabrina's witch powers began to manifest, she came to live with her aunts Hilda and Zelda. Hilda was wild, fun, and slightly insane. Zelda was smart, studious, and always knew what to do. They were the perfect balance of personalities, and they did a great job raising Sabrina together. Zelda kept Sabrina on track in school,...

Girls! Girls! Girls!
Girls! Girls! Girls!
You know what I love? Movies about women who kick ass. It doesn't have to be physical. I just want to watch awesome ladies being awesome, or doing awesome things. (That was my final use of the word "awesome", so stop thinking about making this into a drinking game.)

You know what I hate? Rebranding. Or, to be specific, since this rant will focus on movie posters: Posters for female-driven movies that go out of their way to appeal to a male audience. (Because GOD FORBID a BOY watches a movie about GIRLS!) This poster issue is what I refer to as Bro-ifying. (Is that a word? Whatever, it is now.)...
