Question. Is this you, or somebody you know?

Me: So what's your favorite song bro? :D

Person: Oh my gosh, there's so many! Let's see.....Darude Sandstorm, Darude Sandstorm, gotta love that Darude Sandstorm.....

Me: I'm just gonna hang myself now, have a nice day mate. :)

Person: You too....WAIT WHAT THE HE-

I never cared for him anyways.

So, music! Songs take up a lot of our lives, and if the music takeover hasn't hit you yet, haha, it will eventually. Trust me, I thought I'd never like music until I went around the internet and found some cool damn melodies that I got attached to rather quickly.

And today, I'm going to show you those melodies in question. So get out your popcorn, soda, and whatever the hell else humanity gives people nowadays, because we're COUNTING DOWN.....

(???: It is time...to finally get our revenge! Are you guys ready? Mwahaha....MWAHAHAHAHAH111111

???: Uh, sir? You have to hold down the Shift Key for exclamation marks.

???: Oh, sorry. MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!)

Strange, I thought I heard something, oh well. Way to ruin the intro, stupid flies.... >___>

BUT WE'RE COUNTING DOWN..........

My Top 25 Favorite Songs!

Also, the YouTube link will be right under the image. So without further ado, let's get this show on the road!

#25. Am I Wrong-Nico & Vinz (2014)

link" alt="link" width="360" height="360" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg1sT4ILG0w

I'm going to be completely honest here. If you asked me why I liked this song SO much, I wouldn't be able to answer that. Because simply put, this song is strange.

It's catchy, it's pretty symbolic about achieving goals, even if it's in a cliche manner, and overall, I just find it very pleasant to listen to.

Also, let's just say that this song has become QUITE the inside joke for me lately....I don't know, but every time I hear it I can't help but think of link

And that's really it. It may not sound like much, but if there was ever that song out there that I just sorta loved, it'd be this one.

Props to you Nico. And you too, Vinz. And you too, &. :)

(Get it eh :D eh Nico & Vinz eh :D :D eh eh)

(.........I'm done)

#24. Dancing With Myself-Billy Idol (1982)

link" alt="link" width="560" height="420" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG1NrQYXjLU

This is probably what I'll be dancing to on PROM NIGHT if you know what I mean! ^__^

....Did I technically just burn myself?

ANYWAYS, Dancing With Myself is quite an interesting specimen. It clearly doesn't take itself too seriously, but still has some good depth to it, even if it can be painfully obvious.

The vocals are JUST what you'd expect from Billy Idol, funky and down to Earth. The beat itself is also rather great, and DAMN does that guitar at the beginning get me every time.

I also love the music video, the crap they threw in there show a hilarious desperation of "What can we put in our music video about dancing....I KNOW, ZOMBIES! :D".

So overall, this is a really laid-back but fun song to listen to when you feel like busting some moves in your room.

Now all I need is the Billy Idol hair and I can get away with dancing in front of a store's mirror WITHOUT looking like a complete freak.

#23. Closer To Free-Bodeans (1993)

link" alt="link" width="220" height="218" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpgQxYHZDnI

YOU CAN'T GET MORE AMERICAN THAN THIS ONE. YOU WANNA BET? I'LL MEET YOU IN A DARK ALLEYWAY.

*Ahem*

So, Closer To Free. This song probably makes me feel more independent than any other, and that's a good thing. The theme has heart, good lyrics, and a general sense of "Do Whatever The Hell You Want! :D", which has always been one of my favorite messages.

Also, that scream in the beginning of this song? Like, is that NOT the best damn vocal you've ever heard in your life? XD

One last thing worth noting though....what was up with love songs in the year 1993? Seriously, just take ONE look at this image and tell me that nobody was falling head over heels in 1993.

And these are just the songs with the word "Love" in them....Original titles for the win?
And these are just the songs with the word "Love" in them....Original titles for the win?

I don't know, it's sort of funny to me. But back on topic, Closer To Free is a MUCH appreciated song on just being yourself and coping with the daily demands of life, not to mention a very catchy one.

Props to you, Bodeans. Video Props, that is.

YOU SEE WHAT I DID THERE EH :D :D :D HOHOOOOOO!

......Why must I make these terrible puns?

#22. Long, Long Way From Home-Foreigner (1977)

link" alt="link" width="559" height="554" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1XSzwhhF6M

I don't think there's ever been a Monday this year where I WASN'T singing this song. Listen to it above or look up the lyrics and you'll quickly find out why, haha.

Long, Long Way From Home is a rock song (apparently hard rock, according to Wikipedia. I call BS) about a person leaving a small town to try to succeed in New York City and the loneliness he feels there.

Some of the things I like about this one are the intriguing lyrics, fun tempo, and my GOD is this one a total earworm.

And you can bet that every time I think I'm over this song, it just boomerangs right back in my face the next Monday. It's an interesting specimen indeed!

Some of you may recognize this one from the TV show Supernatural, which used this piece twice. I myself did not, but it's so cool that the current generation can hear awesome songs like this because of the media nonetheless.

And that's about it! It's a classic catchy slaughter-fest of 70's rock that I find myself coming back to pretty often. I just wish it got a tad more recognition than it actually did, oh well.

#21. Livin' La Vida Loca-Ricky Martin (1999)

link" alt="link" width="300" height="306" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p47fEXGabaY

I'll admit it, I found this song because of the end of Shrek 2. You know, like a NORMAL human being would....?

A normal TEENAGER would. Yeah, that sounds better. ^_^

BUT ANYWHO, this song at first just seemed like another song about dancing and drinking to me. Nothing really out of the norm, until one day I started to appreciate it for what it was. Also, I realized that it's REALLY damn catchy.

Interesting note as well, this song's name, Livin' La Vida Loca, literally translates to living "The Crazy Life", which is pretty much one of my life priorities at this point.

Also, this song became a MONUMENTAL hit, becoming the 10th most popular song of the year, kick-starting the huge Latin pop genre, and EXPLODED in sales, reaching over 8 million copies! (Effectively making it one of the best selling singles of all time)

Eat your heart out, Jason Derulo. ;)

But it just goes to show you how even if you don't like a song all that much at first, you may find yourself loving it later.

I guess you could say I'm.....Lovin' La Vida Loca? :D

I didn't think it was that bad.... >___>

#20. Half Truism-The Offspring (2008)

link" alt="link" width="220" height="220" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cr0pqtyM8m0

This is one of those songs where the bark is just as good as the bite. It sounds amazing AND has a deep meaning to it, which is an element I love seeing in songs.

Also, like Dancing With Myself, this one starts off a little slow at first, than EXPLODES with guitar, and it's even better in this one.

I first found this song playing some old Guitar Hero game on the Nintendo DS. It was a bit hard to set up and get to the point in the game where you'd get to play this song, but when I eventually did find it, I loved it immediately.

Half-Truism grabs you by the throat, and doesn't let you breathe, metaphorically speaking of course. It hooks you in with its aggressive vocals, and makes you stay for the rockin' feel of it all.

I did have a complaint here, but I erased it all because it didn't add up in the long run. So much for flaws.....XD

#19. Push It To The Limit-Paul Engemann (1983)

link" alt="link" width="280" height="280" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhsTmiK7Q2M

I've yet to see the movie Scarface.....I need to hop on that sometime.

BUT ANYWHO, this is a dance-rock song that first appeared in the 1983 film Scarface, hence my interest for watching it. But seeing as how this is indeed a SONG review and not a MOVIE review, Scarface can kindly piss off for right now. :)

Push It To The Limit is the very textbook definition of a montage song. It's upbeat, has a ton of instruments, and is widely considered by the general consensus as "F**KING AWESOME".

American Dad used it, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia used it, South Park.....used it? Wait, WHAT IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY-

And even The Simpsons used it! Yep, The Simpsons. This song is taking over the damn world, I tell ya.

(???: I'll show YOU taking over the world......haha, MWAHAHAHAHA111111

???: Sir, the Shift Key!

???: Son of a-oh well. MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!)

There's that sound again....damn those FLIES man! >___>

Getting back on track here, this is a song that combines great lyrics with a kick-ass feel, and I absolutely love it. And even if it can feel a bit too obvious, there's still no denying that there was certainly effort put into this one.

And seriously, a serious song like this in SOUTH PARK!? I'M DONE WITH THIS LIFE, MAN!

#18. Crazy Loop (Ma-ma-ma)-Dan Balan (2007)

link" alt="link" width="300" height="300" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qTFqnDpuvE

This song represents me SO well. Always wanting to spend money and living the life not only carefree, but in the most crazy/unique way possible.

.....Or at least living in a content and fun way.

I first found this song in an edited YouTube video making fun of this old cartoon, and the chorus line alone was like Nicotine to me.....I NEEDED MORE. XD

Eventually I became smart enough to, you know, LOOK UP THE DAMN LYRICS and I finally found the name and all. And lemme tell you something, I wasn't disappointed.

I can certainly understand that this isn't a song for everyone, but if Pop or Dance music appeals to you, then you're going to lose your (presumably inferior) MIND over this one.

.....That's me alright. Narcissistic till the end. :P

But yeah, what else can I say? This one speaks to my heart, and my brains neurons as well, it seems.

Lastly, for those who REALLY want a drug trip, listen to the Nightcore of this song. Just saying. ;)

#17. Remember The Name-Fort Minor (2005)

link" alt="link" width="415" height="500" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDvr08sCPOc

THANK YOU MR. *Name Hidden By FBI For Privacy Reasons*, you're the best teacher ever for showing me this. ^_^

So Remember The Name. Whenever I run the mile at school, this is one of the songs I first think of, it's pretty damn interesting and catchy, not to mention epic as.....something that's epic? 😓

(ALSO HOLY SH** EMOJIS CAN BE USED IN ARTICLES!? This just got a lot more fun....and cancerous. 😓)

Also worth mentioning in this song is the lyrics. They're really good, and tells the tale of this ridiculously talented rapper pretty damn well.

Lastly, I love the beat of this one. The "Da, dadadadadada" works efficiently enough to sound tension raising before the beat finally drops the chorus line on us.

Sure, this song CAN be seen as yet another cliche "Inspiration FTW 😀" kind of song, which I'm not too particularly fond of, but it does it's job really well by combining a great tempo and mood with some awesome damn lyrics.

If I was in the Civil War, I'd name my Fort "Minor". ;)

#16. This Game-Konomi Suzuki (2015)

link" alt="link" width="484" height="480" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mByCL-6RTk

This song has hands down the BEST piano opening in ANY song I've ever heard. I mean, I've always loved the beautiful piano solos at the start of songs, but this one just takes the cake on the metaphorical steel platter of JUSTICE! :D

........Did I just turn into Darkwing Duck for a moment there?

Also worth noting this time around is that I don't think there's a single soul out there who didn't find this song from the anime No Game No Life. If you did, then cookies for you mate. 🕶

Another thing I love about this song is the energetic EXPLOSION right after the piano solo, it really gives the song a sense of adrenaline after the first 30-ish seconds.

Combine it with some top-notch vocals and you've got yourself some hardcore weeaboo fuel right here. And if I lived in Japan, I'd buy this song the supersonic second it came out.

#15. Rock Is Dead-Marilyn Manson (1998)

link" alt="link" width="205" height="205" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4_YgnhTMEg

God is in the TV........ROCK!

Sorry, I just love this song. This is where the list really gets insane, starting with the rock masterpiece that is Rock Is Dead.

Even the TITLE on this one sounds amazing, my god. Everything about this song from the vocals, to the tempo, to the history behind it all, it all spells out some nice fuckin' hard rock.

Sure, I guess it's pretty short, but if you felt no emotion in that three minute orgasm-a-thon than we just can't be friends anymore.

I found this song in the credits of the Matrix movie, you know, like a NORMAL human being would. 😓

A normal TEENAGER would, I gotta remember that. XD

And once again, that's really all there is to say. It's ABSURDLY good hard rock, and I wouldn't skip this one for the world.

#14. The Warrior Song-TheWarriorSongProject (2009)

link" alt="link" width="560" height="315" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTs6a0ORdQU

You remember when I said that Closer To Free was the most american goddamn song pretty much ever? Well, that was before I remembered this one. And my GOD this one's gotta be the most hardcore song I know as of right now.

Maybe the vocals aren't the sharpest, the beat's not the most adrenaline-raising, and the song itself as a whole doesn't seem too amazing until you get to reading the lyrics. And it's easily the best damn part of the whole song.

It makes everything seem so hopeful, so testosterone-boosting, and SO goddamn eventful. Seriously, this is my new 4th of July theme.

Also, all in favor of making this LGYCE's signature theme? Just saying. 😉

Mix all that in with some images of all the great soldiers of this nation and you have truly the most American song of all-time. Give ALL THE FUCKING VIDEO PROPS to TheWarriorSongProject guys, they truly deserve it.

#13. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni-Tomoyuki Nakazawa (2006)

link" alt="link" width="500" height="500" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvwqJw6Ja58

The constant eerie vibe I get from this song sends shivers down my slightly crooked spine every single time I hear it. And even if it may not sound that bad out of context, it just gets more horrifying to listen to as you progress in the world of Higurashi.

If I had to classify any song as art, this would certainly be up there not only because of the haunting lyrics and general tone, but all the little things squished in as well.

For example, if you play this song backwards, you can hear the word Nigerarenai (which LITERALLY translates to "you cannot escape").

EVERYBODY RUN! PANIC, HIDE, FLEE FOR THE HILLS, IT'S THE TAILS DOLL CURSE ALL OVER AGAIN! 😭

Seriously though, I love this song. It's beautiful in the most atmospherically horrifying way. And in the words of Glass Reflection, this opening shows that what you're about to watch sure as hell ain't all sunshine and rainbows.

#12. His World-Zebrahead (2006)

link" alt="link" width="300" height="382" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-EsHiMGsmM

AKA, the only thing worth a damn in Sonic 06.

.....You know, at this point I should just put a sign on my back that says "I offend people! :D", but I digress.

So, why do I like this song so much? Well, it just feels so, what's the word....grand. Like, this is the magnum opus of Sonic music, pretty much. And everything from the vocals, tempo, and lyrics all say that.

It sounds like a goddamn symphony, seriously. Had I known that this was going to happen when I was five-years old I would've-

FUCKING RICO WITH THE KABOOM I SWEAR >___>

But seriously, this song opened up a whole new universe for Sonic music. Sure, actual songs with lyrics and stuff weren't really new in Sonic games around 2006, but this song was the first genuine time I ever realized that video-game music had so much more potential than I could've ever thought.

And my GOD that Chorus, it feels me with determination every single time I hear it.

Determination to SIT in this chair, and WORK on this article.....and be the best that I ca-who the hell is gonna take this seriously?

SONG'S AWESOME. NEXT. :P

#11. Kuusou Mesorogiwi-Yousei Teikoku(2013)

link" alt="link" width="500" height="500" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZvJY7_gyfw

Fun Fact: This ISN'T my favorite anime opening anymore. Well, it still is, but the song ITSELF isn't my favorite when it comes to anime anymore. But still, this song is one hell of a wild ride.

Intense vocals, great lyrics, a very nice beat, and the most EPIC fucking violin I've ever heard in my entire life. Seriously, I bet this song sleeps with its shades still intact. 🕶

And I know this is kind of cheating for a music article, but can we talk about the animation in Mirai Nikki's opening? Like, HOLY SHIT did they raise the bar on that one. Again, the opening as a whole is still my favorite, but as a song, there's ONE more that we'll get to later.

But yeah, I gotta give credit where credit is due. This song is legendary levels of badass, even if the music video is.....intriguing, to say the least.

(#SeriouslyYouseiWhatTheHellEvenIsThisAnymore)

#10. Search For The Girl-Shinji Miyazaki (2002)

link" alt="link" width="333" height="475" />
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6bTSAS_Yts

SCREW CRITICS THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME.

*Ahem*

So yeah, Search For The Girl. Out of context it sounds like a bad country song, but I swear I've never heard a song as gracefully relaxing as this one.

Sorry Georgy Porgy. ;)

I think the song's strongest point is the beautiful Italian feel of the whole thing. That and the fact that this song is a total earworm. 😅

And even though there's literally almost NOTHING else to say about it, I'll always remember this one as the relaxing masterpiece that it's always been to me.

(Also screw Fanpop's 20 Image Limit for articles, I'm gonna have to make this a two-parter, sorry! XD)

(I hope you guys enjoyed the first part, don't forget to fan, comment, and tune in soon for the final nine!)
