I'm curious about this because I still see people using 'may contain spoilers' for shows that have been off the air for years. Anyway, I'd like opinions to see what everyone prefers 'spoiler pick' wise. So I can apply it in the future when making picks.

I think maybe a week after it aired considering by then there would be plenty of links to the full eppy, therefore you watch it. Then answer new picks.

if it has a spoiler in the question i try to remeber to use a spoiler for what ever it is
even if the show is finished because there are buffy fans in Greece who have only just had season 2 available to them

....this is why knifey's idea of "this may contain spoilers for season/episode so and so" is a good idea

Depends on what kind of spoiler it is, of course... but I think one week is enough.

Well, it depends, I think. Like... in the cases of more episodic series, I would think it shouldn't be a spoiler for long. But huge things, like character deaths, should always be spoilers. I mean, you never know who might be just starting the series (with a DVD box set or something) and who might be all caught up on the most recent happenings.

Sometimes we get the American TV shows weeks later. Sometimes months.

if its a show thats been off the air for years then all episodes are usually online so if your using fanpop you can easily find links to episodes online, i think a week after its originally aired or a couple of weeks is usually fine!

Thanks for the input guys! I think a week is reasonable as well. I do think the burden for avoiding spoilers after a certain point should be put on the people who are way behind. Otherwise, we could never discuss anything freely.

I think I'll go with a week. But any further comments or suggestions would be lovely.

just saying that's knifey's idea above that i mentioned

and i think the best philosophy is immediate spoilers should always be remembered (e.g. ones less than a week old) and if they are not i will say something
anything else is great if you remeber not so important if you don't, chances are they will have seen it somewhere else already anyways for something huge

There are always fans who get into a series later. I've often been one of them. Though in that scenario it'd probably be better for someone to watch/read it all before jumping into relevant Fanpop clubs, just in case.
