This is why I made this poll:

When I first signed on to Fanpop, I genuinely loved the idea of people coming together based around what they liked, and started communities, the friendships formed within these communities, and have users have chats with each other (ones that sparked debate or otherwise).

But here's what sealed the deal for me.

-The chat room-

Sure, you can leave messages to other people, but to actually chat with lots of people in the same room in a (potentially) really fun environment, and to form friendships (From all over the world!) there and carry that to the wall posts is really awesome. However, Its a shame that Meebo, the previous host for the chatroom, shut down.

And it doesn't have to be like this.

I was expecting Fanpop to relocate the room to a new provider. And that never happened.

And so I ask Fanpop - if anyone bothers to read this - to bring back the FP Chat room. You are missing out on a real opportunity for the HUGE community to gel together at one central spot.

But it rests on the users of Fanpop whether they want it.

I certainly do.

well, i joined after the chatroom is closed, so i knew nothing about it. but i think it would b AWESOME 2 have a chatroom and chat with people, so HECK YEAH I DO!!!

Not really, the conversations on that chatroom were absolutely horrible.
I only love the meebo bar.

I agree, the conversation in the chat were really meaningless. I don't think I used it more than 5 times. To me, just the meebo private chat is enough.

I'm not against it, but I wouldn't use it myself.
