waichingliu81 this is great news indeed. hopefully, there will be many other people discovering this site and knowing that with fanpop there IS an alternative to the likes of facebook and myspace. this website deserves more exposure and hopefully, getting an entry into wikipedia is the first step towards fanpop's impending popularity later on.

harold The impression I get is that it's not that we're being ignored, but that Wikipedia is very sensitive about providing ad space for corporations. As such, they're unlikely to approve articles about companies (or company web sites) below a certain cultural awareness threshold. Thus it seems to me that the way to get Fanpop listed is to get more people using Fanpop. For instance, Wikipedia's [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites]list of social networking sites[/url] uses Alexa's list of top 500 web sites as its basis for information. Thus it would seem that getting Fanpop onto that list would be a prerequisite to getting a Wikipedia entry approved. And [i]that[/i] means that we should all be using the invite and share link features more often, to get more people on the site!
