Fanpop Question

Can I upload my own homemade videos to this site or not?

Most social media sites out there let us upload any video that we made ourselves. What about this one? Is there some video upload feature on this site made for us users to upload our homemade videos in mp4 video format? I'm still a newbie, so I have no idea how this site works. I just wanna know how to upload my own videos to this site. All I could find so far was a feature that let us embed YT videos to some club, but that's not it. I'm talking about uploading my own videos which I made myself. I would also like to know what about embeding videos from some other sites, not YT videos. Does this site support Vimeo, or Dailymotion (DM), or any other similar site, or is this feature made for YT videos only? There's a lot of great videos which you just can't find anywhere on YT! I'm talking about full movies and full episodes of some TV shows now. So, I would really like to know all about it, first hand. Thanks for your answers.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this feature is no longer available on Fanpop. I believe it was active once, long time ago, but for some reason Fanpop has abandoned the concept of uploading your own videos to this network. I never got the chance to upload any of my own videos either & I've been on this network a lot longer than you, for more than 2 yrs now, soon to be 3. Therefore, the only possible answer to your question would have to be NO, you can't upload your homemade videos to Fanpop directly. You'll have to upload your videos to some other video sharing network first, such as YouTube, or Vimeo, etc. Only then, you can actually embed your own videos to Fanpop, to various clubs of your choice. As for the second part of your question, I'm afraid you just won't like this answer of mine very much. You see, embeding videos coming from any other video sharing network, other than YouTube, of course, is not exactly what you might consider to be recommended right here, on Fanpop. YouTube videos work just fine on Fanpop, but if you cannot find something in YT search & you reach out for some other solution, such as Vimeo, or Dailymotion, then the final result may very well be quite schocking to you. All videos coming from DM can be uploaded to Fanpop, using a standard video upload form you already found, yet some users may not have the right OS to actually watch those DM videos that you've just uploaded, so there's a slight chance that any such DM video uploaded to Fanpop would end up being flagged by another user as a broken content. In other words, one could easily be facing getting reported for uploading videos for which some users just cannot gain access to. At least all such DM videos would end up in video section of some fan club. However, if you decide to upload any video coming from Vimeo, it would automatically got reverted into a links section of a club instead. All videos from Vimeo can only be uploaded in a form of a video link. This time, it is indeed a link containing a video, quite literally. Unfortunately, Fanpop is nothing like all those other major global social networks you were referring to in your description, therefore, I can only suggest to you to play it safe & try to upload only the YT videos, that is if you could find them, of course. If not, DM & Vimeo are there for you, but only as a last resort. You see, nobody would ever take a look at a link, even if you mark it as a video link. I know that from my personal experience. Hope you'd like this answer of mine anyway. Glad I could help.
