Fanpop Question

Has anyone ever received periodic site announcements?

When I was editing my profile, I noticed that under the section 'privacy settings', the first box is for allowing Fanpop to contact you with periodic site announcements. I've had that box checked ever since I joined Fanpop, but I don't recall ever getting any kind of 'periodic site announcements' in my mailbox. Did I miss something, or does Fanpop simply never send out those periodic site announcements?

then again we have always said that we would like a sort of newsletter aboot what going on with the pop but i guess they are busy enough as it is and dont have anyone employed who would have the time to spare. they dont even update the blog very much.
i guess with all the new users who arent used to the f4 being around anyway they wouldnt care to see snapshots of them eating lunch, hearing the reasons behind fanpop decisions and what rainier has been up to lately ...where as i would :P
