Meg opened the door of her motel room and pushed Claire inside. They had introduced their selves to one another while shopping for hair products.
“Sit down” Claire ordered and Meg raised her eyebrows. “I can’t dye your hair while you’re standing”
“You know how to do it, then?” Meg asked careful. She wasn’t vain, but she didn’t want to look like an idiot either.
“Please, I’ve done it a thousand times” Claire insured Meg. “You can trust me”
Meg reluctantly sat down on a chair and Claire unpacked the hair dye shampoo. She prepared the shampoo and then went standing behind Meg. As she put the shampoo on Meg’s hair she started talking.
“So, tell me, why do you need my father?” she asked.
“He has something that belongs to me” Meg replied, before realizing how possessive that sounded. “I mean…he has something that’s important to me and I would like to have it back. And so do Sam and Dean”
Claire looked down, then up again. “I know how you feel. I lost my dad two times” she said. “What is it that you want back?”
“If you don’t mind I’d rather discuss that with your father” Meg responded.
“I heard Dean mention a name. Cas or something? Something about him being stuck in there?” Claire summed up.
Meg turned around. “Why do you ask all these questions when you clearly already have the answers? Didn’t your mother teach you eavesdropping is very rude?”
“I can find my dad” Claire said, avoiding Meg’s commentary. “I’ll call him and tell him that you’re keeping me hostage and that he has to surrender himself to you” She conjured her phone and dialed a number. Meg walked towards her, took her phone and smashed it on the floor.
“What are you doing?” Claire frowned.
Meg grabbed her wrists and pulled her to the chair, where she pushed her down. She walked to the cupboard and found some quick-release straps. Claire, too shocked to act, stayed put. Meg walked back to her and tied Claire’s hands on her back, then walked back in front of her.
“Or I can really keep you hostage” she smiled, before covering Claire’s mouth with tape.
Elena, Caroline and some other people were standing by their lockers, getting ready to go home.
“How come Bonnie didn’t show?” Elena asked, acting careless. Caroline focused on her books she was putting in her locker and avoided Elena’s stare. “I think she’s not ready for it yet” she said uneasy.
“She’s not ready for it yet? Okay, that’s…completely understandable, given the things she’s been through” Elena replied sarcastic.
Caroline averted her head and looked at her best friend with a sad expression. “She’s not ready to face you guys. She’s not ready to see...

“It’s alright, you can take your time” the doctor said. She stared at the young woman who was sitting opposite of her and hadn’t said a word since she walked in.
“I need help” Bonnie eventually said with a small voice. The doctor nodded. “That’s why you’re here. Acknowledging you’re powerless is the first step and you’ve taken it”
“I’ve done horrible things” Bonnie said staring at the desk. “And my victims will carry the scars forever”
“That’s how things look like right now” the doctor said. “In time it could change. They can learn to live with it, as...

Ronnie opened the door to let in whoever was knocking. “Seriously, flowers? Can you say cheesy?”
Tyler put the flowers in Ronnie’s hands. “This is me saying I’m sorry”
“And it took you seven days to get those words over your lips?” Ronnie asked sarcastic.
“No, I just hoped you’d be more forgiving by now” Tyler answered. “Can I come in?” Ronnie looked around as if she wanted to check if he’d come alone. “How did you find me?”
“Eh, Caroline’s mom is the sheriff of Mystic Falls. It was pretty easy” Tyler confessed.
“Oh, I see” Ronnie sighed. “Well, I suppose...

The door of the Boarding House went open, but Damon didn’t bother to go see who it was. He was washing up all glasses he had used to drink. He heard footsteps, soft, it was a female. But again he didn’t bother. He didn’t expect Elena to come back.
“Hey”
The glass in his hand shattered into little pieces. He felt how Bonnie came closer to him and she lay her hand on his shoulder. He shivered, but didn’t turn around.
“There’s glass in your hand” Bonnie noted. “Let me help you” She wanted to take his hand to pick out the fragments, but Damon pulled his hand away. “Okay,...

Elena got out of the shower. Drying her hair with a towel she went downstairs to open the door and let Caroline in.
“Hi” she said as Caroline walked in.
“Hi” Caroline replied. “Can we talk?”
“Is it about Damon? ‘Cause then I don’t want to hear it” Elena kind of begged.
“Well, I’m sorry, but it is” Caroline said. “And I think you should hear this”
Elena shrugged. “Fine, then” she sighed. “Let’s go to my room, I don’t want Jeremy nor Ric to hear us”
And thus Caroline followed Elena upstairs. As Elena fell down on the bed she looked at Caroline. “So, what...

Ronnie was sitting on the hospital bed while the doctor carefully pulled out the fragments and disinfected the wounds. Tyler was standing with his back towards her.
“I’m really sorry” he said for the umpteenth time.
“Yeah, I got that from the first zillion times” Ronnie said with a small voice. “Ouch”
“Please sit still, I don’t want to make these wounds any worse” the doctor said.
“Right, sorry” Ronnie said. When all fragments were removed and all wounds disinfected the doctor turned around at Tyler.
“Can you leave us alone for a second?” he asked.
“Yeah, sure”...

Damon opened the door of the bathroom and collided to Elena, who was staring at him with crossed arms.
“What?” Damon asked. Elena was giving him this reproachful look.
“Are you going to tell me what happened last night?” Elena said.
“No” Damon refused. “What’s there to tell? I had a bad dream. It’s not uncommon, you can look it up”
“But I thought they were over? Is this why you want us to sleep in separate rooms? So I wouldn’t know? Damon, you can’t keep those kind of things from me. If someone’s trying to hurt you you have to tell me” Elena said caring.
Damon walked...

“So this is where Damon and I first met” Elena said standing in the entrance hall.
“Interesting” Caroline said. “Come on, let’s get outside” She grabbed Elena’s hand and dragged her outside.
While Caroline and Elena were having fun outside, Damon was in the kitchen slicing the cake. The cake had been another idea of Caroline. Both Damon and Elena thought it was a little too much, but Caroline was not easy to say no to.
Damon felt how someone was watching his back and he turned around seeing Alaric in the doorway. He turned around again and carried on with the cake.
“You need...

Caroline and Tyler were sitting at the table. Caroline was taxing. “I’ve been trying to call Bonnie all day. Do you have any idea where she could be?” Tyler didn’t answer and so Caroline looked up, seeing him staring at the red-haired girl that was walking out the bar. Caroline pushed Tyler’s arm and he looked back front. “What?” he asked pulling his shoulders.
“I asked if you knew where Bonnie is” she said a little grumpy, though Tyler not responding right away was not the reason for her sudden change of mood.
“No” Tyler said. “I thought you said she was on a vacation...

The door of the Boarding House opened and Elena entered. She looked around, but didn’t see anyone.
“I’m hooooome” she called.
“I’m heeeeeere” Damon called back. Elena threw her schoolbag on the ground and ran to the bathroom. She opened the door and saw Damon lying in the tub. She bent on her knees, lay her hands on his cheeks and kissed him passionately. Damon went with his fingers through her hair and pulled her closer.
“I missed you” Elena sighed between two kisses.
“I missed you too” Damon said soft. Elena slowly pulled away. “Can you tell me why you’re in bath right...

“Where’s Zoey?” was the first thing Daphne asked.
“She’s at the hospital” a nurse said. “She’ll be alright, but you need to go too, for a checkup”
Daphne shook her head. “I feel fine” she mumbled. She looked down and realized she was naked under the sheet. She looked helpless at Cas. He wrapped the sheet around Daphne’s body like a dress and lifted her in his arms.
The crowd parted when he came their way and walked past them.
Twelve seconds later they were home. The door was still open and Cas carried Daphne over the doorstep. He carried her upstairs to the third room...

Hundreds of Leviathans drifted over the complete surface of the lake. Lifeless Cas’ body sunk to the bottom. His bare feet touched the ground and his eyes flashed open. He looked up and saw sun rays sparkling on the surface. He jumped up and started swimming.
Two women were jogging in the woods, one of them wearing a field-glass around her neck.
“Can we have a break, already?” the brunette said, leaning against a tree.
“Oh, come on, we’ve only been running for-” the one with the field glass said.
“-45 minutes, but who’s counting?” the brunette said.
“It’s been 45 minutes,...

Morning came in, but Elena was too tired to get up. It had been 4 am when she had fallen asleep and even then it was a restless night. However she felt a sudden weight on her bed and a shadow covering her face.
She opened her eyes and stared in Damon’s face. She was awake right away. She sat up and threw her arms around Damon.
“You’re alive!” she cried. She held onto him like she would never let go.
“Yeah, some cop helped me” Damon said. “I had to compel him, though. He wanted me to go to the hospital”
“I wanted to go find you” Elena said, letting go of Damon. “But Stefan...

Katherine was sitting on Caroline’s bed, a blood bag in her hand. Her stomach was healed and she was wearing one of Caroline’s tops. When she had finished the bag she gave it back to Caroline.
“Thank you” she said, though it took her quite some effort. They heard a car park. “I think your mother’s home”
Liz had been working really late. Caroline walked to the window and shoved the curtains. “No, it’s not mom” she rotated her head to the bed. “It’s Matt”
Katherine nodded and got up. “Yeah, I need to go home anyway”
“No, you can stay” Caroline said. “I’ll just...

Present Day
“She suggested to stay with her so we could catch up, but I already promised Keith to stay with him. But we spent more time together. When Mayor Lockwood died I returned, but you know that. You basically stalked me with your calls to get you out of trouble. How many nights did you spend in jail?” Kelsey chuckled. Then she sighed. “If I had foreseen this I would’ve enjoyed those little moments”
Amber didn’t react.
“Amber, sweetie, did you fall asleep?” Kelsey asked with a squeezed voice, knowing better. She pulled her sister up, taking her face in her hands. “Come on, it’s night. You’re a vampire, you should be awake” she said with a trembling voice.
But Amber still didn’t show any sign of life.
“Amber?” Kelsey sobbed, tears rolling over her cheeks and she held her little sister tightly in her arms. The moon slowly rose…
The door in the living room went open and Kelsey entered the house. She had wished her parents were gone to bed, but even her 13 year old sister was still awake.
“You’re home early” Amber noted, looking at the clock. “It’s not even midnight yet”
“What’s on your head?” Gabe pointed at Kelsey’s head. Kelsey, who had forgotten there was blood on it, tried to wipe her head. “Oww” she groaned.
“What is it?” Gabe repeated. Kelsey shot a glance at her sister and Rachel understood what she was trying to say. “Amber, go to your room. It’s bedtime”
It was as if Rachel...

Stefan walked downstairs, Katherine following him. When he was downstairs she grabbed his arm and forced him to turn around. “Do you now finally believe me?” she said pissed off and shocked. “If your Bonnie sweetheart is so kind that wouldn’t have happened” she pointed upstairs.
“I know, Katherine, I know” Stefan said. “I was wrong. I’m sorry, I should’ve trust you” “You should’ve trust Damon” Katherine pointed out.
“I know” Stefan repeated. He paced through the room. “Is there anything we can do to make it stop? And what exactly is wrong with Elena? Because...

Damon was sitting on his knees, in his cell, his hands chained above his head. Bonnie sat behind him and stroke with her middle finger over his naked back. It was pitch dark, but somehow she managed to see everything she needed to.
There was a small jar of a colorless liquid next to her. She dipped her index finger in it and pulled it out again. She waited five unbearable seconds wherein she could hear Damon’s hectic breathing. She placed her finger on his shoulder blade and starting from there she formed letters. Though Damon only groaned, she saw him grasping the chains and pull his back,...

The next morning
Elena woke up by noises coming from downstairs. She rubbed her eyes and checked the alarm clock. Nine o’ clock. Time to get up. She put on her dressing-gown and her slippers and walked down the stairs. The noise came out of the kitchen. She walked in and saw Damon making breakfast. He was baking pancakes. Elena sniffed the scent and sneaked up behind Damon. She threw her arms around his waist, laying her head on his back. Damon placed the pan off the cooker and turned around. “Did I wake you?” he asked a little concerned. Elena nodded. “But that’s okay. I want to be...
