HoW can zEref Have surname dragneel?

i thought the name dragoneel came from dragon+igneel... Since natsu was raised by igneel its reasonable that his surname is dragoneel... But why zeref's surname is dragneel?! Technically both zeref and natsu should have had their parents' surname...

Not quite since both Zeref & Natsu's parents were human, Zeref gave Natsu to Igneel because he wanted his brother to get stronger to E.N.D. him in the future, plus didn't want people to know his relation to Zeref. As for their parents I assume they were studying the theories of dragons before they died, which is how they got their name.
