Evanescence Question

Why?????????????

Why does everyone say you must pick a side? why can you like Evancence AND We Are The Fallen?! i like them both! have 'em in the same playlist! I adore Amy Lee AND Carly Smithson. whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy are people so shallow that they must bicker about these two bands and people!
Sure, We Are The Fallen is similar to Evanescence, everyone in the band but the lead singer is the same! it's gonna be similar! Ben wrote some of the songs for Ev! Why is this such an issue people??????????????

I don't really like We Are the Fallen. I respect those who do because it's their opinion, but I really find their music boring. Evanescence has always been a more creative type of band, and it's like WATF is trying and failing to be just as creative. Not to mention, while I find Evanescence's lyrics beautiful and meaningful, I always thought WATF were trying way too hard to have their lyrics match Evanescence's style but in the end they end up sounding very cheesy. Also, IMO Evanescence's music is overall darker, which I love, while WATF's album sounds more like Fallen's era (I consider Fallen more light-hearted than Origin and The Open Door). And seeing as I prefer the Origin and Open Door eras compared to Fallen in the first place, I don't think We Are the Fallen are ever going to win me over. Again, this is just my opinion.

I personally don't like WATF. But I never put down anyone that liked them or listened to them both. I have my own personal reason why I don't like WATF. That are legitimate claims on the lack of integrity of the band that I find faulty. But, listen to whatever you want to. I could care less lol.

I personally dislike WATF because some of their claims. Like for example in an interview Carly said "she never really listened to Evanescence" when on th American Idol tour she sang Bring Me to Life. They also try not to have association with Evanescence, but that's kind of tough considering they do covers from Fallen. I know Ben is totally entitled to because he helped write it. But still, he left Evanescence and continues to use the old stuff, and did you notice Bury Me Alive has a VERY similar intro to Bleed? I do respect your opinion though :)

Also they did most of their promotions at Ev's expense too. Knowing they would get more attention mentioning Ev.

Bury Me Alive also sounds almost exactly like Going Under's chorus, too.

I agree. Ben just seems like he just needs to stay in the spotlight. To me, WATF is just a ripoff evanescence,

Totally agree!
People are too stubborn these days.
Move on and enjoy the music.
Both bands and all members are happy now. That's what matters.
