The movie was, in my opinion, very, very bad, and didn't do an inkling of justice to the book.

I have it on DVD and the whole part where Ella tried to stab Char was so stupid.

I love the movie! I think the book was kind of rubbish. The book wasn't funny at all, and it had kind of a lot of stuff that was really unwanted. No offense to anyone who likes the book, but it just wasn't the best in my opinion. Sorry, :/

the movie was ok the book was great and JElover they added comedy to the movie for d lil kids. they wud get bored. i guess ur just one of those ppl who doesnt appreciate good literiture.

I like both. I think the best thing to do is not to try to compare the two, because they are entirely different. I just got the DVD today (I got it from Disney Movie Rewards using points I'd already earned, so it was free) and I like it. You just have to forget that it's Ella Enchanted and it's very good.

It's not my favorite movie (my favorite movie is another movie with Cary Elwes: The Princess Bride) but it's one of my favorites.

It's easily my favourite romantic comedy. I wasn't even aware there was a book.
