omg one of the best animes i have ever watched, its about these mutants tht r eventually gunna conquer the world ,and like there girls with horns and all, bit of a crappy definition but i'll tell u what tht anime brought me to tears so many times ,i suggest it
Like yourself, I just recently got into Elfen Lied when they showed it at my school's anime club. From what I gathered watching the first episode, half of the second and from what my fellow members told me:
It's the story about a demon girl named Lucy who breaks out of her confinement and loses her memory. She is found by two teenagers and she takes on a new identity named after the only thing she can say: "Nyuu"
In my opinion, keep watching it. It's awesome!

Honestly, it's all about girls who were born with horns growing out of there skull and the instinct to destroy all humans. The main character is Lucy/Nyu a discalounious.(That's the name for the girls) Lucy had a horrible past after she was bullied and forced to watch her first friend get beat to death with a flower vase. (It was a dog) This is when she first used her vectiles.(hands that are invisibe to humans)She kills them all. She meets a boy who is the only one to ever treat her special or like a human, not a monster. She falls in love with this boy but lets her blood thirsty side take over. She kills his sister and father. I'm pretty sure this is all the spoliers you want to hear. So you should definetley watch teh anime/read the manga. If you wanna cry yourself to death, THEN you read the manga.
