Apparantly, when Ten regenerated, the TARDIS all fell apart because it was part of the Silence's plan to infiltrate the TARDIS. However, this has never actually been hinted in the show, so I'm not convinced. I think with Ten it was mainly because he was the only one who held off his regeneration as he really didn't want to go, resulting in more explosive regenerative energy. However, that is just a theory.
