"People assume that sexuality is a strict progression of straight to gay, but actually — from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint — it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly...sexy-wexy... stuff."

I'm all for opinions, but it does strike me in an amusing way that some people consider the Doctor straight.

Do Timelords even have sexualities? Even more so, do they even have specific genders?

I consider the Doctor to be pansexual. He just likes whoever he likes, regardless of gender/species.

Ha-ha, I know why you think so. It's because of Jack, Rory and The Master ;) It's possible, but honestly I don't think he is.

^ Yes that, exactly. I mean, a case could be made that it's completely one sided on the Master's part. He did also say "A cosmos without the Doctor scarcely bears thinking about." in The Five Doctors. As well as so much more. But I just really... don’t think it is. “You could be beautiful”, anyone? “Get out of the way.” anyone else? As well as the fact that Ten was SO keen on the fact that they were (or he thought they were) the last Timelords. Despite the fact that the Timelords are actually horrible and he HATED them. Guilt and fellowship aren’t the same things at all. Then I’m just talking about Ten (really I’m just trying to make the most points with something I know most of us are familiar with), here really, but it’s not the only example of this at all, trust me. In the TV movie with Eight, when the Master was about to die, even though he had literally just killed both of his companions, the Doctor STILL offered to save him. Also, in the (sadly retconned) animated series with the alternate Ninth Doctor, Scream of the Shalka, the Doctor built an android version of the Master who he kept in the TARDIS. Which. Why would you if you didn’t genuinely care about someone? Much less someone you supposedly HATE. Honestly, I do think the Doctor is asexual, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have feelings for another person at the same time (romantic and sexual feelings are two whole different spectrums, after all). Plus, demisexuality readings of his character make heaps of sense, too. But I’ve always seen sexuality as a big part of the Master’s character, even though Galifreyans are probably by-and-large asexual. Not to mention the Master’s feelings for the Doctor are SO frighteningly obvious I don’t really even know what to say. Hahah. Yeah. Sorry about that, by the way. I don’t mean to sound rude. I just. Care a lot about this as someone who is queer and someone who these characters are just…. so important to. And no problem, Natalie_Singer.

oh wOW HUG!!!! VERY STRAIGHT MUCH HETERO. It's not like the Doctor's ever hug someone who wasn't explicitly female, though, right? Not to mention, if you're implying by his face, that he had feelings for Rose, that's pretty monosexist of you. Just because he's only explicitly (at least, to you) had feelings for women, that totally negates the possibility of him being bisexual? Or just interested in other genders along with females?

You're ignoring the fact that the Doctor (arguably, at least) had no romantic interaction with any of his companions in the Classic series. You're also ignoring his male companions from the Classic series. A lot of these characters also had very apprentice-like familial relationships with him. Like, you know, especially his Granddaughter Susan pictured first? Romance with companions was literally just a new thing added (TV movie excepted) in Nu!Who to "humanize" the Doctor more, and make him more "appealing" for today's audiences. And it's not like he has any shortage of subtext with male characters, yeah, even in the Classic stuff. This picture is honestly just a really bad thing to use as evidence of heterosexuality. I mean, it's almost like you're implying that he chose all of his companions (buT ONLY THE FEMALE ONES!!1) because he was attracted to them, and not because they were genuinely competent and intelligent and he care about them as people. Not to mention, you're taking this fanart WAY out of context.

Wait. There are actually people who think the Doctor is heterosexual????

hahahahHA.

You people fucking slay me sometimes, I swear.

I don't quite think he would identify as bisexual, though. And I say that as a bisexual person myself.

Your right the doctor wouldn't identify as anything he Probobly doesn't have time for stuff like that. But I do think he's attracted to guys

No wonder if he's hetero or bi, I still see him as asexual! And I am aware of River... how about a compromise demi-bisexual then. @_@

The Doctor doesn't actually have a sexuality because he's a Time Lord, so whether he kisses a boy or a girl he doesn't actually care. In fact he's pretty clueless as to what sexuality is and would probably be confused if someone tried to explain it. So yes in a way I suppose he is bisexual, I mean if we trace back all the "relationships" he's had since the start there's a mix of both: First doctor: Cameca, Second doctor: Jamie, Third Doctor: Jo, The Brig and the Master, Fourth Doctor: Sarah Jane, Romana, Fifth Doctor: Nyssa, Tegan, Turlough, Ainley!master Sixth Doctor: Peri, Seventh Doctor: Ace, Eighth Doctor: most of his companions, Ninth Doctor: Rose, Jack, Tenth Doctor: Rose, Martha, Donna, Master, Eleventh Doctor: Amy, Rory ,River
