Doctor Who Question

How do you feel about "Torchwood: Miracle Day"?

I never really watch Torchwood, and just started this season but I don't think I will continue watching. Rex makes me think of a cheap American "hero", Esther is kind of boring and Gwen get on my nerve (and her accent doesn't help either).
Can't really find something I really like about it. Even Jack isn't all that great...
What do you guys think about it?

I'm a massive Torchwood fan and even I gave up watching miracle day after the first couple of episodes I did try watching it but it's just to terrible. In my opinion you should try watching the earlier series instead far better in my opinion.

I agree. Series 1 and 2 were much better then Miracle Day.

Very true I think the problem is they're trying to make one story stretch over too may episode and the fact that most of the new cast aren't half as good as the original cast. Jack and Gwen are the only good ones left if you don't count Rhys and Andy from the first couple of episodes.

I'm not that enthused with the new cast. I don't like Esther; she brings nothing to the show except the whiny bimbo barbie Hollywood loves to throw in. Rex, yes he is very annoying, but I did like the Doctor.

Gwen and Jack are the best part of the show, so if anyone doesn't like them seeing as they are the only true Torchwood cast, then you shouldn't be watching.

As far as the story line; I liked season 1 and 2 better then both Miracle Day and Children of Earth. The one episode story lines were much better.

Oh and PS Gwen's Welsh so her accent is positively beautiful.

I agree with you. I love Gwen's accent and I think the characters of Gwen and Jack where the only people that kept the show going. I did not like Rex and I disliked the ending that he become immortal... -_-

I've watched Torchwood since series 1 because I'm lucky enough to live in The uk .I only started to watch torchwood because its the spin of from doctor who . To be honest it's the most boring series yet. i must admit i mean yeah America is great in making tv shows so why take over a British show for it's just ruined the whole show .And whats with the pedophile/murder storyline played by bill Pullman ? I'm confused to why he's even in the show Even series 3 :Torchwood children of earth is way better then this series because series 3 didn't have all the original cast members and yet they was able to make that great so why not this series i think it's due to being more American then anything else

I agree the storylines are much better in the earlier series, but don't blame the lameness of this one on the American's; RTD was in charge of the scripts.

I think the idea is good. The idea that normal people can't die except Captain Jack, and how they are going to face declining resources etc but i prefer torchwood bieng in cardiff not in the U.S. Plus i think more humour is needed. In every episode there might be an odd line thats humorous but i miss the season 2 humour. (Mostly due to Ianto who had the best one liners) I think its a good series but it's not the best. My favourite has to be series 2, the stories were good and it had some humour. I feel this series is sort of dragging along. They need to find out some more information about what/who caused the drug. (Forgive me if there's been an episode that has already done this, i'm in the UK and i'm a week behined) :)

Agreed...good idea but lacks humour

Series 2 was my favorite as well, and I also preferred it in all in Cardiff but it's not as if it's taken Cardiff totally out of the show. It's a back and forth now.

And I don't consider the new crew part of torchwood

I have watched it but missed the last couple of episodes and although I dont like Rex and Esther, I think Jack is still awesome but I love Gwen even more, she is so bad ass this season. So overall I like it.

BORING!!! Loved the first two series but Children of Earth was slow and dragged. When I first saw the trailer I thought Miracle Day was a 'one-off' special and I wish it had been. It is awful. Clearly RTD is trying desperately to get a TV deal in the USA and if this is what Torchwood has become then lets hope he gets it soon and stops writing this drivel.

I have not seen it but the radio ads ruined it before it even started. I mean seriously, "a major event that will affect every human being on the planet?" I know it's refering to the plot but that's not how it sounded.
