Matt Smith Or David Tennant?

You can't compare them - they each brought different things to the Doctor, and I like them both in different ways! They're both great actors and fit the role really well :)

I'm going to have to say Tennant. As great as Matt Smith is, I feel like he doesn't bring as much emotion to the character of The Doctor as David did. I mean, David could bring tears to my eyes with just one scene, while I rarely feel as emotional during any of Matt's scenes. Although, I have to say, Matt Smith really is adorable.

David Tennant is awesome, full stop.
But since want to have the best answer I will elaborate on this.
(1) He has great hair.
(2) He wears awesome suits.
(3) One of the best explained seasons had him as the doctor.
(4) He is, by far, the actor with the best jokes.

I'm going to be different and say Matt Smith.
But I really do like him better, but that is just my opinion after all.

Well, technically they are all him. Just different times in the life cycle. I loved the first episode with Matt Smith where they cycle through some of the past Doctor's and he walks through the images. Although, have you noticed he seems to be growing younger with each new 'birth'? Maybe he's like the mythical Merlin, a wizard that lives his life backwards to everyone else.

With out a doubt it is and always will be David Tennant! <3 My friend likes Matt Smith but he is way to immature in my opinion

well to be perfectly Honest, there is no compare needed, they are both very talented actors who bring something special to Doctor that drives us fans NUTS! so no compare needed! I love how Matt's Doctor is Adorable and incredibly childish,
and i love how Davids Doctor is funny and has GREAT hair!

They are both awesome, and they bring something different to the show .It's hard to choose my favorite Doctor will always be ten, but it's not just because of the actor, there are a lots of reasons why I do =)

Matt Smith is my first Doctor and the reason I started watching so I am going to have to pick Matt Smith but David Tennant had some really great moments and I think he was great as the Doctor.

have a special place in my hearts. :) So it's David for me! :))

For me its David Tennant, that being said for playing the same character David and Matt both play it very differently. Matt plays more so of a happy go lucky sort of Doctor while David plays a more serious sort of haunted by his past in a way. 3 reasons why I like David more, the 1st is a bit dumb but I love his catch phrase "Allons-y". 2nd is he was the first Doctor to fall in love with one of his companions Rose, The heart break you felt when they were separated during the 3rd and 4th series, and then their reunion back together. I know many Doctor Who fans are split on this topic but I loved it. 3rd and most important is his character is more emotional than Matt's like he can get more serious than Matt's when the time calls for it, or when he's said or heart broken you can see it in his eye's. I know this isn't in the nature of Doctor Who but I think it allows audience's to get a better understanding of the doctor and allows them to get somewhat of a emotional attachment to him.

I think that they're both good in their own way... david was great he was amazing and he always kept his feelings backall the time and was serious but he was great, then matts funny quirky and just got a sharp edge to him. So voth I suppose

Matt Smith I feel like he is a jigsaw of all my favourite parts of every doctor wrapped up in a bowtie and then so much more, Though I really don't get why everyone says he can't be a serious as David if you've seen him you know that he's about 65% mad in a happy smiley way; and the rest of the time he's the mad that makes you fear him as you can see 900+ years of experience and pain! and you best believe he will decimate you if necessary, sometimes this even leaks through in his happiness its sort of an angry happy that is menacing and dark... Plus he Rebooted the universe like it was windows vista :)

Ok guys, this is going to be an everlasting feud, BUT, I believe that I can find some middle ground. David Tennant and Matt Smith are both incredible actors, lets give them that, or else they wouldn't have been chosen to play this iconic role. The script plays a big role in who is "better", and it makes David Tennant very quirky, not angry a lot, and not sad a lot. It makes Matt Smith not very quirky, a little more angry, and a little more sad. Both can be very flirtatious. We also like to compare them to each other, WHICH WE SHOULD NOT, because the whole point of this is to have them take on the role in a whole new way. I absolutely love both of them, but I think that David Tennant has a natural quirkiness that Matt Smith has to work at a little more. David Tennant is not as good at being angry or sad, when Matt Smith is better at it. And Matt Smith is not as good at being quirky, when David Tennant is. Over all, I think that David Tennant is better at playing the Doctor, and Matt Smith is really close to being as good. I am not saying that David Tennant is a better actor. They are both equally good ACTORS, but David Tennant is just a tiny bit better at playing this role than Matt Smith. They are both equally good actors. Agreed?

David Tennant is by far the best Doctor! When he first appeared as the new face of the Doctor he made a totally critical moment hilarious! The throughout his rain David Tennant continued to do this with his witty humor, great reactions, and his knowledge.

Matt Smith, basically because he is MY doctor and I really really loved when the doctor was in him :)
