Doctor Who Question

What got you hooked on Doctor Who?

My brother was watching the Doctor Dances. Now i'm a sucker for 1940 hairstyles and i've yet to meet someone who'll deny that John Barrowman is an exceedingly attractive man. So as walk by my primal brain goes "who that" and I sit down. And what an episode to come in on! I was hooked.

What's your story?

well... it all started when I was watching TV one night. then, doctor who came on. (it was the 11 doctor episode part one of time of angels) I watched it for a bit. then it came on another night randomeley again. (this time, it was amys choice) I started to feel an affection towards the show. I watched the next night, and the next. but I wasn't hooked completeley yet. by the time hungry earth was over, I was so intrested in the add for the next one, I started to dream about it. so I looked up a doctor who site. I went on something saying doctor who episodes. I watched the next one. and then the next next one. so I watched it for a long time. then, I went to the video shop, and found david tennant ones. (then, I didn't know david tennant even was) so I watched one. and I didn't watch another david tennant one. so I decided to go on the site again. I watched a david tennant. it was good. so I watched another. then, I got hooked.

Everything! I'm the only girl in my whole class who watches it! It's fun, the doctors that I'v seen (david an matt) are very good looking guys, which my friends think I'm weird for. The plots are great, the companions rock, the special effects are cool, the aliens are really well made, EVERYTHING!!

Well, way back in the day, my best friend was watching Doctor Who (9th). Of course, I didn't think much of it at the time. Then one day, when I was flipping through the channels, I saw Doctor Who, and I thought to myself, "I wonder if this show is as good as my friend said it was." So I watched it, and it was okay. Then, every time I saw it, I would watch it, and partway enjoy it. But then David Tennant rolled along and that was when I REALLY got hooked <3

I actually used to hate Doctor Who and go around bad mouthing it. We used to watch it every saturday when I was 8, and it scared me a bit. Then when I was 11 my brother was REALLY into it and gave it to my dad who got REALLY into it, so I watched season 3 and thought it was awesome so I watched the rest. And I got REALLY into it ;)

Well, way back during college, I saw an episode with Tom Baker the "The Armageddon Factor". It was a bit strange and I was hooked. I eventually found it on the public broadast station. They played it in a serial fashion with a cliff hanger ending to make you tune in the next day. Eventually, the station played the earlier Doctors and then the ones that followed. They changed the format to showing the complete episodes on Friday nights. Friday night became Doctor Who and a pizza night. It wasn't the same once the show was canceled. At least I had the shows I taped. I was thrilled when they finally brought the series back. Season One was ok to reintroduce the show. It really kicked into gear when David Tennant took the part. Matt is great in his own way. Hope the Doctor stays on the air for years to come.

Watched my 1st Doctor Who episode sometime in 1986 after we moved to Australia. They didn't play it in Portugal. It was a rerun in black and white and I can't remember which doctor it was but it fast became one of my favorite shows (even though at the time I couldn't understand most of what they were saying)

As a youth I hated TV. HATED IT! One night I was truly bored and turned to PBS . . . the music intrigued me the story line hooked me. Yes, I've watched the Doctor since 1969 or so. I even contributed to PBS as a young teenager to keep that program going! A friend drew my image, he included the TARDIS and k9 (ha!)

I was visiting my cousin who is a big fan. We were relaxing on the couch when she turned on the TV and started flipping through the channels. She put Doctor Who on and told me how great it was. The episode was Human Nature. I Loved it! When I got back to my house I got the series from Netflix and started watching.

I was at my Grandmother's house when "Forests of the Dead" came on. I was immediately impressed by the show, because even though I had no idea what was going on, I was crying when River Song died and laughing when the Doctor 'saved' her. After that, I looked it up and watched all the new episodes. Now, I'm so hooked on the show, that I'm watching the old series.

Believe it or not, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic introduced me to this wonderful sci-fi. I was browsing random pony clips when clips of this background character called Doctor Whoof/Whooves by fans showed up. One of those clips brought me to clips of the Tenth Doctor. I kept searching the Doctor Who clips and noticed how funny and cool Ten and Eleven were. So then, after a while of watching clips on YouTube, I finally started recording eps on my family's DVR.

And that's how this now former pegasister was converted to a Whovian.
