Chapter 15—Saved By Love

    The parents left the pound, with Lady’s heart was still hammering after hearing Toughy’s astonishing story about Angel and her experiences. She explained the whole sad story to Tramp, with Perdita helping her out.
    “Poor girl,” Tramp told Lady when she finished. “She had bad luck, even for street dogs.”
“I had no idea she had a life like that,” Lady stated sadly. “You do think… that she’s safe?”

    She sat in her jail cell, looking quite moody as she stuck her bony face through the iron bars, and only saw other inmates in their cells. She was quite frustrated, surrounded by a bunch of thugs, yet she was so much more than one of those rotten thugs, for she was a mastermind who could come up with the most devious of plans.
