Let me explain what I mean by the title. (Since that's pretty much what an opinion article is for)

In the past, we have know Captain James Hook as one of Disney's most notorious villains. He's sly, underhanded, devious, and crafty. However, he is also one of Disney's funniest, with his demeanor around Tick Tock Croc, and his relationship with Smee and Peter Pan.

But here's the thing about Captain Hook, he just seems to be one of those villains that you have to somewhat feel sorry for. He had his hand cut off by Peter Pan and to make matters worse, Pan threw it to the crocodile and because of that, it's been pursuing him since. And he has swore revenge on Peter Pan since then, but instead, he ends up getting humiliated. I end feeling bad for the poor guy because he just cannot catch a break.

Also, he seems to have a higher sense of honor than the other villains as seen in his battles with Peter Pan (with the exception of maybe one or two) and Zarina. Despite everything, I believe that maybe there's maybe a bit of respect between him and Pan as well as Zarina.

And with the series, "Jake and the Neverland Pirates," we've seen Hook in a different light. Sure he's still sneaky and greedy and cranky, but he doesn't seem as 'evil' per say as before. He regards Smee as a friend and at times in the series, he has his moment and actually being noble and even nice, as Wendy once said in 'Battle For the Book.'

Also, one big thing to me is that in the series, Hook has a love interest. And not just any love interest either. Now when it comes to a Disney villain having a love interest, you would think it would be a villain like say, Beatrice Le Beak. But no, instead, its a kind-hearted pirate named Red Jessica who is friends with Jake and co. And Hook legitimately cares for her. I like that Red Jessica serves as a foil for Hook's usually selfish nature.

But the one thing that really made me give this some thought was a recent Christmas episode called 'Captain Scrooge' (which is pretty good, btw). In the end of the story, Scrooge (played by Hook) become a good and fair pirate. And Captain Hook joins Jake and co at the end of the episode.

I've also seen videos with Hook and Jake together at meet and greets.

Based on all of this, I can't help but wonder. Is it only a matter of time before Hook actually becomes......a good guy? I know most of you are probably thinking I'm crazy for even thinking such a thing. But with the way the series is taking Hook's character, it's not really farfetched that Hook actually does become a good guy. Lately he kinda reminds me of Jesse and James from Team Rocket on Pokémon.

So with that being said, while it may be a stretch so to speak, it could be possibly that Hook would be eventually be removed from the Disney villain line if things go on the way they have been.
